  1. Horrible customer service!! If you don't speak Spanish good luck getting their attention! Unless you're Dominican it's difficult to even understand what they are selling! I personally would skip unless you know the food!

  2. I loved this place when I lived in Washington Heights. There was a language barrier but I know a tiny bit of Spanish and I had Google translate!!
I always get good service here. Even one time I didn't come back for a while, and the server told me she missed me:)
Food is always good and cheap. It's a Dominican staple that should never leave Washington Heights!!

  3. Used to be better a few years ago..  Came in for lunch and not crowded at all..  I waited about 25 min for roasted chicken with a side of veggies…  Chicken breast was pretty dry..  Veggies meh… I won't be back

  4. Their lunch specials are delicious, generous, and cheap! The roasted chicken and pork are great! I would say that the chicken has an edge over the pork because the pork was a bit greasy. The meals come with bread, yellow rice, and a cup of (awesome) bean stew.

Plenty of table seating and at the bar as well.

The only thing is that their service is slow as molasses.

  5. My wife used to work around the area so when we happened to be back around there for lunch, she suggested this place.  I've had latin food most of my life so I'm not easy to please but this place made me happy.

My pernil was super tasty, perfectly soft but not too salty.  The pork skin that came with it made it even better, perfectly caramelized.  Huge lunch plate with rice and beans and a side order of sweet plantains for under 10 bucks.  Seating is ample, food comes out fast, service is friendly.  No much more you can ask for.  A definite thumbs up.

  6. Chicken, rice, beans = well-done and it's QUICK. Five minutes. It's possible to sit down, eat it up, and then get back to work in 30 minutes. Complaints about oily food are true. Hope they switch to extra virgin olive oil from canola or whatever it is they're using. Or just die down the oil a little.

This isn't a really detailed review because what more is there to say? Solid fries and plaintains (sp), plus your pick of sports on a number of well-located TV sets all over. I'll definitely be coming here when the NBA season gets in full swing.

  7. I had the french toast with bacon and a sangria after a long night at work. I prefer it made with Challah bread, but this was a typical thin slice. The bacon was decent and the red wine sangria was good & fairly strong which was what I liked. Service however was really slow!! It was a party of 3 of us and 2 of us ordered the french toast while the third person ordered a typical dominican breakfast…how that took almost an hour with only a total of about 8 patrons in the restaurant was beyond me. Also, not many of the servers speak English well but luckily for us, my friend spoke Spanish so that helped. Never again.

  8. Good Dominican food, very attentive service. Got the pernil that comes with rice and beans for lunch, and was comfortably able to split it. The pernil was really good- very flavorful and extremely tender.. And it came with a crispy piece of chicharrón on top! Big servings of rice , just a heads up. And the gratuity is included in the check so no calculators necessary 🙂
