My coworkers and I haunt this joint like no other. On days where I don't bring my lunch and I'm craving Mexican, I come here. Large seating area although I usually take my food to go. Basically they have good whole dishes here to what you would find at an awesome street cart! Something for everyone. Speaking Spanish helps but not necessary. Food is made to order so there might be a bit of a wait but that just means it is super fresh. It's somewhat of an open kitchen-you can see when you are ordering and also from the street as there is a window where you can peek into the kitchen. My standard order is usually tostadas with whatever protein I am craving that day (ahem carnitas). I will say that this place is so good that I can't decide if this is my favorite Mexican place or Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos in Brooklyn is. So that means five star deliciousness.
If you do stay, note that their salsa for their chips is amazing. There is something really special and when we asked, it's salsa mixed with cocktail sauce. Genius!
For those of you that are not Queens savvy-take the 7 train to 90th St/Elmhurst and walk to 37th ave and walk a few blocks up to 93rd St. You can also take the train to Junction, walk to 37th Ave and walk a few doors down.
Pretty tasty Mexican food. The tacos are good; they don't skimp out on the meat, the avocado sauce on top wasn't watery like other places. The burritos are massive, comes with a side salad, good enough for 2 meals. L loved the octopus cocktail. I normally don't like tortas, but the one I had here was surprisingly delicious and that's after reheating it in the microwave at home. I don't recall which one we had, but it was spicy from the grilled jalapeños. It hurt so good…The guacamole was okay, mine is better, but I like that it comes in a small mortar priced at only $3.50.
For drinks we tried a couple of shakes, but the best non-alcoholic item was their agua frescas con melon. Tasted like real melons, quite refreshing with all that spicy food.
It was pretty much empty during lunch, but we'll definitely come back to check out the rest of the menu during dinner hours.
