  1. The good:

Pupusas! I liked that they have vegetarian options, something I haven't seen til I was taken to this spot. Go with the spinach with cheese pupusas. The cordito (spicy coleslaw) was very tasty and I couldn't get enough of it.

They have 2 big tv screens on either end, showing the football (sorry, soccer to you Americans) so it kept us entertained while we waited for our food.

Located right by the Norwood Av station on the J train.

    The bad:

The service. The waitress seemed absent minded. It took forever for her to give us the menu, take our order and when my friend needed a straw for his horchata, it took her even longer to give him one. It wasn't even that busy so I can't imagine how much slower the service is when they are!

  2. I came here specifically for the pupusas.
I had some of the cheese pupusas and also the pupusas revueltas (filled with both cheese and chicharron). Both were very good with the meat filled one being slightly better! The taste and texture of a pupusa was similar to an arepa, except the pupusa is larger in diameter. I also recommend you eat them quick, because they were tastier when they were fresh and hot at the table. As my meal went on, the pupusa became cold and the cheese started to become cold and rubbery.

Tried a corn tamale as well. The tamale here was very good. It was very moist and not dry at all, like I have experienced with other tamales.

Also, I had one of the enchiladas here. The Salvadoran enchilada (and the Honduran one as well) is different from the Mexican one. It is not a soft corn tortilla filled with stuff. It is more like the Mexican tostada. It is a hard fried tortilla that is laid out flat and open faced with lettuce, tomatoes and meat on top of it. The one served here was a little bit blander and more watery than it should have been, but was stil okay.

Overall, the meal was very satisfactory and I was completely stuffed!
