WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. If we hadn't been desperate, starving, cranky, and impatient, this would have been my LAST choice. I'm a tad pretentious when it comes to picking out restaurants, but after spending the entire day moving furniture into our new apartment and snapping at each other out of exhaustion and hunger, we couldn't be bothered to clean ourselves up enough to visit a fancier eatery. This place was recommended to us, so we set out to find it. When we spotted it from a block away, we were terribly disappointed: it was a small convenience store, with a little counter on the side where you could order Mexican food. What? This isn't a restaurant! What idiot recommended this to us?!
But again, we were desperate, so we continued inside and ordered. Despite being mostly a convenience store, there was seating available. The wait was a little long, but WORTH IT. We were SHOCKED by the quality of food here. My tacos (soft shell, vegetarian) were phenomenal. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully seasoned, the sauces were fabulous, and the prices were great. I will absolutely return here whenever I'm in the mood for authentic Mexican!
