  1. Decent mexican fast food. I went for a grilled chicken torta yesterday for lunch. Pretty glad that I work next door or else I'd be screwed as far as lunch timing. The wait was a bit much but for what it's worth, it was very busy. Their portions are big and make the prices much more worth it. I give the food 3 stars and the customer service 4 stars. I might be back to try the nachos when I have a craving.

Although, I'm pretty disappointed to say that the guacamole sucks. It tasted weird and not tasty at all. It wasn't brown or spoiled, just tasted really funny.

  2. I don't know what to make of El Toro. Their space is small so it's hard to find a place to sit and eat during lunch rush hour. Their food is decent. It's the not BEST Mexican place around but for its price and its location (so close to my workplace), it's not bad – edible. I do like their sour cream sauce and their salsa. The people there always seem to be friendly and service-oriented. When I want a quick Mexican meal, I would stop here. It is a hell of a lot better than Chipotle, anyway.

  3. Juicy meats, corn tortillas, onion and cilantro make three good tacos. This is not Chipotle, it's actual Mexican food.

  4. Unexceptional fare on a quiet street squeezed between the exchange and Broadway. While the menu is more expansive than Chipotle, each individual ingredient is worse. (As someone says here in another review, "It was reminiscent of Chipotle, yet somehow cost more and was less tasty.")

I came at the dinner hour, where it appeared that the couple dozen metal trays had been sitting around for several hours. This is an advantage of the Chipotle model – the somewhat limited menu means that everything rotates through quite quickly. Instead, these ingredients had the somewhat rubbery consistency of something that was cooked, cooled and then reheated.

Besides chain food, GuacStar a couple blocks away is a notch or two better. Or just go to Sophie's which is much better Cuban food two doors down.

  5. This was a quick easy Mexican lunch that I found one afternoon. I had the burrito bowl and found it really filling. I have also had the shrimp salad and that was good as well. It's not the best Mexican food but it is good for the price.

  6. Pretty decent Mexican fast food joint. I had the chicken quesadilla and it came out relatively fast. Price was average for the area. It tasted pretty standard and I was happy enough with the taste and the portions. I'd come here again if I was in the mood for Mexican.
