  1. I am from a suburban part of New York State that if you drive a little gets very rural.  I know what you're thinking "ew."  Except rural areas are great for what? FARMS.  Who lives on farms? COWS.  What do cows make? ICE CREAM. So, yeah, I would say I know a thing or two about good ice cream.

Emack and Bolio's is good ice cream.  NYC does not have the quality of ice cream that you get from the farm, but Emack brings it pretty close.  Their flavors are splendid and creative without getting too outrageous.  Those cones though.  THOSE CONES THOUGH.  I am normally an "eh" cones person.  At Emack and B's I was like OH HECK YEAH GIMME THAT FRUITY PEBBLES CONE.  I have literally not stopped thinking about it since I ate it.

Kind of expensive–I think I paid just shy of $10 for my two scoops in fruity pebbles cone.  That being said, if you are a person with disposable income, I beg of you to try this ice cream.  If you are a person without disposable income, ugh, I'm sorry.  If it helps, I'm obviously voting blue in November. #ImwithIceCream #MakeAmericaFatAgain

  2. Oh. My. God.
Those ice cream cones are everything.

I ate the delicious waffle cone dipped in marshmallow and Froot Loops. They have tons of options in toppings on the ones but the Froot Loops was delish.

The vanilla ice cream. Perfect consistency, fabulous flavor.

Small store that lacks a plethora of seating but who he hell cares? Give me ALL the cones and ice cream.

  3. Amazing ice cream but tiny little store. They have a bar that faces the street with three stools, but that's it in terms of seating. I came in on a cold Saturday night around 8 pm and the shop was packed. The line moved pretty slowly, but I think that's because the groups ahead of mine were very large.

  4. Amazing small ice cream shop on the upper east side. This is a small chain and I know they have a few places to get ice cream in Boston as well. Firstly, they have a huge selection that changes daily. You can try as many as you'd like! In particular, I love the white pistachio and the peach ice creams. The Oreo and cookie dough is also quite good – and so is the black raspberry! You can get a kiddie cup which is only 1 scoop or a small which is 2 scoops and you can have 2 flavors with that. The cones are also a work of art in themselves. I especially appreciate that they have a big jug of tap water with lemon for those of us who get parched with dairy. There's only a few seats here so plan on taking your ice cream to go.

  5. The Oreo Marshmallow Cone is a must have! I was glad to taste that the grasshopper pie frozen yogurt was still tasty 🙂 can't wait to come back and try all of the interesting ice cream flavors.

  6. An Upper East side gem for some delicious ice cream, most certainly. It reminds me of Ben & Jerry's, in terms of a menu that has neat and creative combinations of flavors that work really well. Their cones selection is insane, but you have to have a serious sweet tooth for them. Their ice cream ranges from regular ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet to soft serve. On a good warm day, make sure to pay this place a visit.

I have been a few times so far and can attest to certain flavors that are becoming my usual favorites. As a fan of a good chocolate chip mint, I do enjoy the Grasshopper Pie a lot — Creme de menthe with Oreo cookie bits. The Deep Purple Chip — Black Raspberry with white and dark chocolate, is fruity but the contrast with the chocolate is real nice. I love their Peach ice cream, but I've encountered it only once or twice. Hoping on my next visit, they will have this amazing flavor. The soft serve menu is pretty wonderful, and it is all about the texture. The Coffee Oreo is tasty, but definitely has more coffee than Oreo going on. Green Tea is nice, but note it is not a super sweet flavor and has that true green tea powder flavor. They are offering a Cereal Milk soft serve now that sounds like a great flavor to try.

All in all, Emack & Bolio's seems to me a better Ben & Jerry's, for the reasons their flavors are more or less similar in terms of outrageous combos, yet not as sweet and have more that homemade quality/flavor. The variety and selection is awesome, and I have recommended this spot to those who visit the area. It is always a treat to have some Emack & Bolio's.

  7. So hot out today. So when my friend wanted to pop in after dinner, I thought it was a no brainer.

There are so many flavors to choose from. I tried a sample of the lemon sorbet and it was good. I ended up getting a cone with a scoop of salted caramel with a pretzel. I had to eat it fast cause of the heat, I wish I could have savored it and taken a picture, but it was a nice treat. Small shop. The staff was quick to serve us. I think this place is A-Ok, nothing mind-blowing so far in terms of flavors, but I will be coming back to try out more of the menu. I would prefer not to pay more than $4 for one scoop of ice cream, so that's the only down side.

  8. Is there any ice cream place better than this on the UES? Just simply delicious and the cause of many pounds gained over the city summers. But I mean peanut butter oreo on a waffle cone…so worth it.
