  1. Wooow. I'm a die hard Juliana's fan but I gotta give it up for my side chick, Emily…the pizza here is pretty much perfect. The crust is ideal – chewy, charred and razor thin with just enough heft to hold up toppings. The namesake Emily white pie is ridiculously good and I'm not even a huge fan of truffle..but combined with pistachios and honey, it was almost like dessert (which I am always a huge fan of). The Colony was also great and the pickled chiles were deliciously spicy. Pizzas are a little pricey ($22 and $18, respectively) but pretty big and you can taste the love.

I would definitely go out of my way to get pizza from here again….don't tell Juliana

  2. PROS:

    – Emmy Burger – was very huge. The beef was slighty pink the middle. Loved the bun. The sauce and caramelized onion gave the burger a sweet taste. Great Burger! Comes with some thin cut fries. 4 STARS

    – Emily (White Pizza) mozzarella, pistachios, truffle sottocenere, honey. I liked that the pizza was thin and crunchy. The pistachios and honey was a great combo. The pizza was slightly sweet from the honey but very yummy. 4 STARS

    – We only had to wait approximately 15 minutes for our seats.

    THE OKAY:

    – Fancy Phoebe (cocktails) $10 – Vodka, St. Elizabeth Dram, lemon, honey The cocktail was alright but it tasted mostly of vodka and lemon. Nothing special there. I would skip their cocktails as none of them seemed that good. 2 STARS

    CONS:
    – no reservations
    – Restaurant is kind of small and narrow.

Note: I would definitely like to come back here to try their other pizzas.

  3. Went for the burger. Even though it's July 4th weekend I have heard the hype regarding this play  so I wanted to play it safe and went alone. Although there was up to an hour and a half wait for 2+ people, I was seated immediately at the bar.

Wow the burger is great. Do I think it merits the price? Definitely not, but regardless it's a truly fantastic burger. Getting it cooked anything more than medium rare would be a huge mistake.

My only qualm regarding the price is the saltiness of both the fries and the burger. The fries were fairly average and wayyyyy too salty, and the burger was a bit over salted as well. If this was toned down it would have been that much better.

  4. A solid four and maybe a five but I waited so long to finally visit here to try both the burger and the pizza. We arrived around 8 and it took a little over an hour to get seated at the bar. The wait. No issue. The problem is they ran out of burgers. The guy next to me was finishing his when we were seated so it hurt more!
Anyway, the pizzas were great. We had a classic red pie with olives and onion (forgot the name) and the Emily white pie. They were both cooked to perfection and delicious but my daughter and I both thought the white pie was the winner.
Nice friendly service and a good vibe.
I am a fan and will return (and come earlier) to try the burger. Also need to get to Emily Squared.

  5. One of the best restaurants in New York, pizza or otherwise.

We got the burger, and two pizzas: the Colony and the Emily, both of which were among the best pizzas I've ever had. I am not typically a huge fan of white pizzas, but the Emily was so original and so incredible that it still ranks up there in the top echelon of NYC pies for me. The Colony is more typically my style, and it seriously delivers — I think it compares favorably to Roberta's Bee Sting and most other comparable pies at similar places.

I loved the burger too, although I wouldn't put it in my very top tier (eg Minetta Tavern, Gramercy Tavern) — I think it's one tier below, although my wife thought it may have been her absolute favorite. I am generally more into the burger itself rather than the sauce (my wife tends to be the reverse), and this is definitely a messy, saucey burger. Also, I don't think the pretzel bun serves the burger in the same perfect way as some others (particularly Gramercy's) — there's nothing wrong with it, I'm just not sure I wouldn't have liked the burger better with a smaller, more traditional sesame bun.

Really though, if there are any downsides to Emily, it's that they are not really in the most convenient location to get to from Manhattan, and if you go at any kind of normal hour, you basically have no chance of getting in. We went one time on a Saturday at 5:45 and there was a three hour wait, so next time we went just as it was opening on a Thursday and didn't have a problem.

Regardless, the food here is so incredible, it's worth the travel time and the wait.

  6. $26 burgers- loved the pretzel bun that accompanied the deliciously cooked beef  but overall the taste was on the sweeter side given the sauteed onions. would have been improved with some paired acidity. thin crust pizza.  Delicious meal but nothing amazing.  Wine and beer list as well.  cute atmosphere and good for dates since it wasn't too noisy. also very good taste in music that I appreciated.

  7. Fantastic pizza. My friend and I split the special, which was some three cheese concoction that involved sausage and heaven (true). We could barely finish it, especially after having had an order of wings – amazing. Tight place so don't bring your 500 closest squad members.

I want to try the burger next time!

  8. Well my name is Emily and I came here and ate the Emily pizza. Drastically overpriced foods but unique flavor combos. The Emily pizza includes honey and pistachio but they work! Because the crust is so darn thin, everything gets really sticky and cold fast. Personally I think I just like deep dish better. The wait was estimated to be 30 min but we ended up waiting less. They let you wander away from the restaurant and text you to give you 5-7 min to get back to get your spot. I thought this was nice since we were able to go and get dessert first!
