This place was okay, nothing special really – we ended up going here when we saw that the wait for Blockheads was ridiculously long. We had General Tso's chicken as well as General Tso's Tofu and both dishes were just fine. We even had Tsingtao beer, which was a nice change from the usual stuff! Probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but it was a nice place to sit and have a decent meal. Word to the wise – do not go to the bathroom here until after you've eaten. It skeeved me out a bit, as there were two small little bugs on the sink counter top that made me lose my appetite.
After trying in vain to order take out from FOURTEEN other Chinese restaurants in the Upper East Side at 12:15 on Friday night, we finally got lucky with Empire Wok. I had no idea it was so difficult to get delivery after midnight!
Delivery was prompt and the food was pretty good. We only had one dish (large fried tofu with broccoli, $10) and boy did it hit the spot! I can't speak to any of the other dishes, but I'm sure they are all pretty run of the mill average Chinese.
Kind of an old school Chinese restaurant reminiscent of the type you would see cops eating at in 1970's crime drama TV shows.
Decent Americanized Chinese food, but nothing that can compare to Chinatown restaurants. Has all the bells and whistles on the menu that one would expect. The times I have dropped in here for a quick lunch special in the $6 range have been decent enough. Good wonton soup, steamed chicken & shrimp with vegetables and brown rice is passable, and hot tea with refills. Service is nice too.
Solid but nothing amazing. Good local Chinese place.

Negative points for stale fortune cookies 🙁
