  1. I've been here maybe a few months ago but forgot to review because the experience was definitely forgettable – not bad, just forgettable. I do believe that I had a veggie burger and smoothie when I came here, but it wasn't amazing. Adequate.

I came here for a few days ago to get a smoothie, and I will admit that the smoothie was good, the service was weird. The staff here must not like talking to people and generally seemed absent, distant in a noticeable way. Okayyyy. Anyways, my smoothie was on the expensive side, around 6 or 7 dollars and I just felt that everything was average.

  2. Energy Fuel is somewhat of a smoke and mirrors act – it boasts an attractive menu that inspires a fair amount of hope while you order…which then quickly dissipates when the food is placed before you.

An impressive sounding Energy Teriyaki Platter comes out of the kitchen as little more than a handful of mixed vegetables and chopped chicken, just slightly underglazed with a light sauce. Healthy? Yes. Flavorful, not so much. I had a hard time figuring how one might dare call this a 'platter' and eventually concluded it must've been on account of the fancy porcelain dish it's served on because it's most certainly not aptly named if for its (paltry) serving size. In fact, the cleverly tapered bowls disguised the eyes into thinking there's more food than there actually is… but for the price point, the meal is only slightly unreasonable.   The hungry boyfriend was crestfallen when he pushed aside his veggies and found a poor man's serving of brown rice. To their credit, the kitchen unsmilingly offered him another scoop free of charge when he asked for it, but it was just another thing that stood between him and his meal, and would prompt me to avoid coming if I were famished.

My own veggie burger combo was tasty enough, but the fries had clearly been flash baked, making for a healthier option than having them deep-fried but nearly every fry on the plate had acquired smokey, blackened ends which weren't quite so healthy nor good to eat.

So why three stars? They're clearly here to offer healthier alternatives to the standard fare on Myrtle, and to be fair, they've done that successfully with their food, but moreso with their liquid menu – shakes, juices, and smoothies. I've had a few juices and their new kale smoothie (not on the wall menu yet, but look for the sign on the counter), and all have been quick, fresh, and delicious. Indeed, it seems that much of the foot traffic through this joint is not so much for what's coming out the kitchen but from their juices and blenders. I'd highly recommend any of the fruit and veggie potations here but if you're hungry, don't expect too much.

  3. Love this place, still needs work though.

Sometimes I order from here and it's completely right and other times I wonder if the staff thought the order through. For example, salmon, broccoli and air fries in a container is okay, but chicken lentils and fries is not. The steam turns those baked air fries into complete mush, and I'd rather not have a lentil soup with chicken.

Their "chipotle" sauce is either really barbecue sauce or they run out of chipotle and just give you barbecue? I have never had anything that tastes remotely close to chipotle, so my guess is the latter (I hope).

For allergy purposes when people order protein brownies in their delivery order, maybe call and tell them "surprise, we added pecans today!" I'm not allergic but this can be prevented.

  4. I've been here a few times for a juice or a smoothie and they're always inventive and delicious.   They've got stuff for the hardcore veggie lover and for the sweet fruit drink lover.  I haven't had anything to eat yet but their salads look great and based on my experience so far I'd stop in if I were hungry.
Service is friendly, decor is fast food-y (nothing too fancy).

  5. I love their juices and their bison burger (with the 100 cal sandwich thin, avocado add-on) is 4.0 star worthy, for those two alone.

However, the sweet potato fries always show up WAY overcooked, the avocado salad I ordered the other evening with falafel topping was underwhelming. The falafel topping was so dry, it was kind of inedible.

    Delivery is fast and friendly.

Stick to the two things they are good at — bison burger and any of the juice/smoothies. I can't vouch for anything else on the menu.
