Browsed the aisles – they have a huge selection of goodies – and a nice selection of beer.”

“Yes, the prices are pretty high, but it's NYC, and it's cheaper and healthier to get takeout from here than to go to a restaurant every time you want a nibble.”

  1. I sometimes would come here during lunch at work hours.  There is a huge selection of cold sandwiches at all times of day including the weary hours of night when night owls, like myself, who work late can grab a meal before going home.  Patrons beware:  all sandwiches are priced differently ranging from $4.99 to $6.99 to $8.95.  Condiments for sandwiches are located at the deli counter.  There is a decent selection of beverages including, one of my favorites, ITO EN Green Teas.

  2. Wow!  A great, actually rather large location (especially considering storefront entrance)!  A great selection of prepared foods as well!  Great for the traveling consultant on a per deim.  Course it is near the park Manhattan prices.  Staff was friendly and attentive!  I will definitely be back!

  3. Stopped in to grab a quick to go turkey sandwich. I wasn't expecting much as to go food usually isn't very good, but this really took the cake as the for being terrible.  It was literally the worst thing I have ever tried to eat.

  4. This tourist from Portland was very pleased to find Ernest Klein & Company just one block from my hotel.  They have GT Synergy kombucha, an extensive selection of organic chocolate bars, organic produce, and sushi!  Yes, the prices are pretty high, but it's NYC, and it's cheaper and healthier to get takeout from here than to go to a restaurant every time you want a nibble.
Service was absolutely neutral–not friendly, not rude.  That was good enough for me.

  5. My boss is from New Zealand and often wants some obscure cheese or cookie and will ask me to run to Ernest Klein. If you are rich and particular, like her, it's the place for you. They have a great selection of food from around the world. They also have lots of pre-made sandwiches and salads and now sushi.
Too bad it is SO overpriced. I would never shop there if it wasn't being put on my company's expenses. They do have a great beer aisle but I can't stomach those prices ($15 for a 6 pack, etc.). When I need to get paper goods and more easily attained items, I head next door to Duane Reade to save a few dollars.

  6. Supermarket with a huge selection.

Great place- popped in looking for something in a pinch and wound up buying more than I went in for-

Browsed the aisles – they have a huge selection of goodies – and a nice selection of beer.  Having to kill a few minutes, grabbed a beer and plopped  down in the small seating area and although the sign said no drinking beer – no one bothered me…

Prices were a little steep but it is midtown so nothing unexpected.

  7. I have not actually been to this store but I recently ordered flowers through Seamless with them. It was the day before Valentines day and I had yet to order flowers for my special someone. I looked at many options such as local florists and FTD, but I wasn't going to shell out over $50 for a dozen of roses or tulips. I knew a lot of grocery stores in the city delivered groceries and many of them offered flowers in the store, so I searched flowers for delivery in Manhattan on Seamless. I felt like I beat the system when I saw this place offering a dozen of roses for $16.99 or tulips for $7.99 ON Valentines Day!

There was a little mishap with the first time they tried to deliver them but they quickly fixed the problem after I gave them a call. The flowers looked great and I was able to avoid the obnoxious marked up flowers everyone else was selling!

  8. Attention NYC tourists!  Leave 7th Avenue and come over here.  It's a little pricey but not as expensive as the lousy delis on 7th and the quality is much better.

This is a great place to stop in to pick up a few specialty items.  Unless you're Donald Trump (during a non bankruptcy year) you're not going to purchase all of your grocery items here but they have really nice stuff.  I like all the prepared foods because it's easy to pick something tasty on the go.

Player tip:  Stop in here and pick up some cheese/olives/crackers or even sushi before taking your guy/girl for a romantic picnic in Central Park.  Do that and you will get lucky.
It's a one stop shop that makes those panties (or boxers) drop.
