  1. LOVE this place. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They answered all of my questions and concerns and help me pick out meat! Very reasonably priced and the cuts of meats are great. Just keep in mind it IS. Butcher shop so the initial smell of meat can be overwhelming when you first enter, but that should be expected from a butcher. Highly recommend this place for your meat needs.

  2. High-quality, reasonably priced products combined with a helpful staff is a winning recipe.  Pork is obviously their specialty, and the sweet soppressata I had was stellar.  The store is barebones, but in the endearing kind of way that lets you know their focus is on taste and the taste is on point.

  3. I came here to purchase some steaks for Lapin. The prices are reasonable and they have a decent selection. It's a simple butcher shop but the customer service was great. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and offered a lot of recommendations. I got a rib eye steak, hot Italian sausages and a filet (I forgot the actual name) of steak and Lapin enjoyed each item I got him. He remarked it was very good quality and considers it one of couple of places he would ever get meat from.

I just wished they carried more products **hint hint — perhaps some fresh pasta :)**

  4. I do like this place & am a firm believer in the superior quality of butcher shop meats. I think the staff here are very knowledgeable which is a must in this type of setting. However the last time I was here, I did not care much for the service I received. It was on Valentine's Day so there was a bit of a wait (though there always is when I come in. It's to be expected, this is a great place for what it is). As usual, I took a number and waited for my turn. After waiting about 10 minutes, my number was called and I walked up to the counter. Then some guy who came in after me jumps up and waves his ticket, saying it's his turn. The butcher looks at me then looks at him, then proceeds to serve him. So I sit back down & wait. Once the guy is done, he leaves his ticket on the counter & walks out. Then the same butcher looks at me & is about to take care of my order when ANOTHER guy waves his ticket & jumps in front of me. Just to be sure, I ask the guy what his number is, but he ignores me. The butcher says sorry to me and starts taking the other guys order. The other customers in the shop, who have seen me get passed over twice, offer me lots of pitying looks as I go back to my seat & continue to wait.

When they finally get back around to me, I place my order and the butcher goes back into the freezer to get my ribeye. While he's in the freezer, I decide to see if the two guys actually were ahead of me. I saw both of them leave their tickets on the counter before they left, so I reach up on the counter and pick them up. My number was 76. The two tickets were 78 and 80. When the butcher finally comes out of the freezer, I let him know that the two gentlemen he chose to serve ahead of me were actually behind me in line. He says "Sorry, there's nothing I can do." So I pay for my steak & walk out.

Although I have always admired the quality products I've received here, I don't think I'll be coming back. I'm being generous by giving two stars because I have zero tolerance for this kind of poor service. It just irks me whenever my concerns are dismissed. Every time I've come here, the butchers are always friendly with the other customers, as I'm sure they have plenty of regulars. Perhaps my business just isn't as valuable to them as the other two guys they let jump in front of me. The least they could have done was check our numbers to make sure things were in order. Luckily for me, there are plenty of other butcher shops in this city, so I have the option to take my business elsewhere. Also fortunate for me, Valentine's Day was not ruined despite their rudeness & I cooked the most exquisite steak for me & my boyfriend 🙂

  5. Selections – From steak to lamb to sausage to chicken wings, you name it and this place has it. I love coming here on a saturday morning and just get everything i need for the coming week. If you don't see the item you want, just ask for it, they will bring it out from their refrigerator space inside.

Services – Like everyone says, these guys work hard behind the counter, they know their stuff, they love their job, and always deliver.

Price – I think they are more than reasonable. You can get pretty much all the meat that you'd get from whole foods here, and the price is lower.

Minus 1 star because the place is a little dirty, and some people might not like the smell of it when you first walk in. Also, it is definitely not the best meat shop in NYC in terms of quality, but no doubt it is very very good and I will come back anyday for my meat!

  6. Great meat market near my office, great prices and they had pretty much every cold cut, and dry sausages.

A must if your in the area.

  7. Esposito Meat Market is more than a piece of pancetta in the cast iron skillet of my life memories. It's a good local butcher shop. Back in the good old days, my dad used to pick up their home made sausages. He'd cut it into thick slices and cook it with big pieces of sweet onion, garlic and red bell peppers. We'd tear off plain white bread that crumbled at the edges to soak up the saucy juices. Then he'd say, "That's the way I like it!" Then there's that calf liver story, but I'll save it for next time.

  8. Bought my boyfriend filet mignon here to cook for his birthday – he said it was great. Also purchased chicken sausage (the one with apple as well as the one with broccoli rabe & mozzarella) as well as the sweet pork sausage. All were a hit at the BBQ.

The prices are very reasonable here. I got 2 medallions of filet mignon and the total was 12.99. The sausage was about 5.99/lb. The service was great – the gentleman serving me was really nice. I was a bit nervous because I've never been here before and wasn't sure what I was getting but he was helpful and friendly and helped me choose.

They also accept credit card which is a plus.
