Im not a burito person. But this, hands down is best I've ever had!! Had maduros on the side, and my friends and I had the pina colada. Sooooo good!! The burrito, alone was verrrrrry filling. The staff is very friendly. Would recommend.
I'd give this place 5 stars for the food and pricing. The food was amazing and fresh and their prices are pretty low for the quality of the food. The interiors and ambience are great too with lots of natural light and very family-friendly.
I'm giving them 3-stars because their service could use a lot of improvement. We were the first people to get seated this afternoon. The restaurant was empty when we got there. We were the first ones to order. 25 minutes later more than 9 tables were occupied and 3 of them already had their food. We asked why our food hasn't arrived yet and our waitress said she would check. 10 minutes later the table next to us finished their meal and asked for the check. Still no sign of our food. Our food finally arrived after 4 other tables got their and 30 minutes after we ordered. Then the check arrives and we were overcharged for our beverages. Had to ask our waitress twice to fix it and she did so very reluctantly even after she admitted it was the wrong amount???
If they could figure out their service this place is worthy of 5 stars as the food is truly fantastic. Will definitely try it one more time.
Currently in a food coma from eating this place's food as I write this. This place is top notch! Food & service! I had a big craving for Mexican food & I noticed this place awhile back looking from the 6 train. Came inside & was amazed! I had the chimichanga with chipotle chicken & my girlfriend ordered the Enchiladas de mole poblano with chorizo. Food was mouth watering! Everything was fair price. Service was great, waitress was really nice & the bus boys picked up accordingly & offered to refill any drinks we had. The ambiance is good too, family oriented but I can totally see this place being a bit lively at night. Crowd looked happy to be there, working staff looked happy to be there. Good vibes and good food. I will be coming again!
Seriously if you like steak or grilled meats this is the place ! We had a good meal here and the beer was nice too .The ambience very casual and the service was attentive and friendly . I went with two friends, and I order the Churrasco Medium: It was kind hard to finish it all, it was huge but at the end I did, with tostones in the side, this steak was very was quite juicy and the preparation was perfect, it had one of best taste I had I've eaten in years.
My friends had Churrasco one with salad the other one with vegetable:
The salad was very fresh, and had a great taste, as well the vegetable.
I recommend this place.
Great Mexican restaurant on Westchester Ave in The Bronx. Even though I have worked in the area for more years than I am willing to admit, this is my frost time at Estrellita Poblana. We were greeted at the door by a smiling hostess and shown to our table. Our waitress brought large glasses of water with lots of ice and big slices of lime. she was back to take our drink order in less than 5min. With chips and salsa. I ordered the enchiladas with green and red sauce. Please see the picture. She gave me a choice of rice and beans, salad or french fries.
The food was medium spicy and tasted like Santa Fe. Entries are good sized and are about $12.00 each. We will be back for sure.
Very good and nice selection of vegetarian/vegan items. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty and made even better with the assortment of 4 salsas that came out with our meal. I typically avoid salads (boring and ALWAYS pushed on vegetarians) but I was in the mood for veggies so I ordered the taco salad. It was gigantic, stuffed with lots of vegetables and a big serving of guacamole, served in a huge fried tortilla shell. Since I got it without the cheese/sour cream, they gave me extra veggies for free and offered to add sauteed vegetables for a couple dollars (not necessary but a good deal). The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back.
My friend Lana became the lead singer of the band P.O.D. (which is partly why they stopped having hits). She told me that she felt so alive now that she was representative of the youth of the nation. She even changed her legal name to "POD-Lana", and opened this restaurant with the money she made in the band: Estrellita POD-Lana. I'm not sure why it's spelled wrong on Yelp, ah well.
What to get: Tacos.
What else: This is my 2nd ever NYC review.
I stopped by here as part of a "Bronx Food Tour". It was pretty good. I had an Asada Taco and a Chorizo taco. They were nice and cheap, they were tasty, they were everything you'd expect from NYC Tacos, as in, not the best, but edible and enjoyable.
I also got a "banana drink" which was a little overpriced, didn't have a great taste, and was way too icy. The chunks of ice got stuck in the straw. It was a little disappointing to say the least. So I wouldn't recommend this drink to anyone, although it wasn't awful by any means.
And if you have a pet Kestrel (it's a bird) named Lita, then you might prefer Kestrellita Poblana, but if you're in the Bronx and looking for some decent Mexican food, this place will do you fine. With 119 reviews, I wouldn't call it a hidden gem. To me, a hidden gem is nearby "El Atoradero." Best Mexican in NYC, let alone the Bronx. Try it and get back to me.
This place is amazing. Its clean and the atmosphere is very relaxing. But let's get down to the best part. Their shrimp chimichangas are delicious. My girlfriend and I love having this gem right by us. They make a really good Pina Colada and I love their Tamarindo drink. The service is great as well they are very attentive in this spot. This is definitely one of the best hidden gems in the BX.
