My experience here was good. I ordered spicy salmon hand roll and Philadelphia roll. The rolls were good. They both had excellent portions of fish, and they weren't drowned in rice. I also ordered hot and sour soup, and the soup was good. Great ambiance for a date. Big TVs to watch sports, even though at the time there was so much static on the TVs during a football game.
Honestly: we were in the area between meetings and looking for Panera. I needed a rest room and so did my colleague. We decided we were actually going to eat lunch (which rarely happens in our travels). But….we had over an hour before our next gig and since Panera moved to a different location, we ducked into this lovely Bistro.
It was VERY cold in there…it wasn't terribly busy and it was exceptionally blustery/cold outside. They did try to combat it with space heaters.
Hot tea is served in a small metal pot with small sake-sized cups.
Lots of lunch specials to choose from; I had the sushi/sashimi lunch that was served with a spicy tuna roll. 3 pieces of sushi (tuna, salmon and a white fish) and 2 slices of sashimi – yellowtail, tuna and salmon; and a single piece of "white tuna" (which we all know isn't really tuna).
My colleague had the lunch portion of general tso's chicken. This was a really big meal – a pile of fried chicken in sweet and sour/spicy-ish sauce, rice and a salad. I think there was also a crispy spring roll thrown on there. He really enjoyed the meal. I tasted a piece of the chicken and it wasn't very spicy…but it had a nice flavor.
We both started with the egg drop soup; this was a choice along with miso or a salad. Soup was piping hot (like burn the crap out of your tongue hot!!) and served in a pretty big bowl.
Not bad at all; I would grab lunch here again if I'm in the neighborhood.
