  1. MEH.

I ended up eating a late lunch at work yesterday MEH and did not know what I wanted MEH. It was also Ash Wednesday and I got warned by a few people MEH not to eat meat MEH. So after wandering around for a bit MEH I decided to plop down at Europa Cafe to grab a bite MEH.

Well, this place is fantastically MEH. I mean, it seems clean with some seating, and they have a salad bar and pasta making station MEH, along with the usual selection of MEH wraps, sandwiches, and paninis MEH. They also have breakfast sandwiches and coffees MEH.

So I order up a half tuna sandwich MEH and a small yellow split pea soup MEH. Neither had much flavor MEH. For the price it's really not all that good MEH, especially with so many other lunch choices in the area MEH.

So back to work I went MEH after a highly unsatisfying lunch MEH. There is really nothing here MEH that would make me want to come back to this place MEH.

Just a whole bunch of MEH.

  2. Yum. I thought I'd mix up my office lunch adventures and popped in on a recommendation to try the pasta bar. I have since returned twice and have yet to be disappointed. Pasta station includes choice of pasta, 3 vegs, a protein, and a sauce. It's hot and fresh and affordable, what more could you want from a midtown lunch option?

  3. I hate my coworkers.
    They ruin everything for me.
They know about my irrational fear of bugs and use that to ruin places I like to eat – aka, my Times Square Deli, home of my Flagel and Happy Old Man.

Starving and in a panic because Times Square is grade pending and apparently there are visible rats at Choices, I ducked into Europa for breakfast (I refuse, REFUSE to go to Pret because their food made me itch once. call me crazy, I dont like when food makes me itch, and if anyone from my office eats there I complain until their lose their appetite)

Eh. Not Bad.  Not Good.  Next time I dont want cheerios, I'm just going to leave 5 minutes earlier and go to Beach Bagel.

  4. Overpriced and poor quality
I tried to give Europa a shot after being let down a few times. But not to my surprise I am continuously let down.
    Sandwiches are tasteless and dry.
    Soups are artificial tasting.

    Not a fan.

  5. With a friend on a Saturday early afternoon to meet-up a friend after a mediocre job interview intervention course at nearby New York Public Library, SIBL branch where hunger pangs strike.  Europa Cafe stave off my hunger.

Undecided, I sought for a turkey Brie sandwich which was an utter dismay $6.95 with one bottle of water at $1.55.  My friend's Zesto sandwich was more dismay for abject painful $7.55 with a soda at $2.07 all totaling $20.00, includes NYC sales tax.  Our lunch consisted of in-depth conversation without interruption, without question, without annoying blockages by staff.  We were able to sit for nearly one and half hour on a calming cooler beginning days of summer for a Saturday afternoon!  Albeit the single facility is immaculate clean without the standard cleaning eye sore objects of mops or brooms visible, and the tiles are decent.  Amenities are readily available and no key is required for patrons to utilize.  Europa Cafe is rather bland for its food as it resonates a gourmet deli.

  6. A girlfriend and I were tempted in by their new quinoa bowls. I tried the Tofu Bowl, which for $8.25 was a lukewarm pile of quinoa, only partially "shredded" carrots, a few morsels of tofu, and bean sprouts, all drowning in a very sour Thai peanut dressing (which FYI, is not how it's supposed to taste!)

For a quick meal at roughly the same inflated price, I'll take a soup and sandwich at Pret a Manger down the street, which at least has fresher food and takes Discover cards. If for whatever reason this is your only option, the tofu bowl with either brown rice or quinoa is vegan, as is the pesto pasta. The sandwiches are pre-made and reheated when you order, but I didn't see any options without meat or cheese.
