  1. I've been eagerly awaiting the open of Eva Jean's. My boyfriend and I popped in for a quick coffee and to check out the space on Sunday. There was a decent brunch crowd and the staff was welcoming with high energy and all smiles. We sat at the bar and sipped cappuccinos while getting to know our new neighbors. I was pleasantly surprised when waitress asked our cappuccino preferences. I take the normal half foam-half milk, but sometimes I'm moody and prefer extra dry, so attention to customer preference is always appreciated.

The winter brunch and dinner menus look delicious with standouts such as the "Toad in a Hole" with Fontina, mushroom ragout and spinach or the Monkfish Osso Buco. We already have brunch plans to return next weekend.

Eva Jean's is nestled on the quiet, residential block of Kosciuszko Street between Bedford and Nostrand Avenues. The ambiance is adorable and comfy with rustic wood ceilings and floors, retro seating and splashes of lush green plants in every corner. They're currently awaiting their liquor license, but have big plans for a specialty cocktail menu that will include spirits from local distilleries. It's all uphill from here!
