  1. A Brooklyn staple, Exquisite never dissapoints with authentic carribean cuisine.
Known for their whole jerked and roasted chicken, their meat falls off the bone.

With fast and courteous service, i wish they had more of a dine in option.

This is a must visit on every visit to BK!

  2. This place has truly evolved over the years. Years ago you couldn't get options like mac and cheese , salmon or even the pineapple jerk sauce. Their jerk chicken quality has surely gone up over the years as well which is why i rate them 5 stars. I only order jerk chicken from here and I combine their new pineapple jerk sauce with abit of regular jerk sauce on the chicken (you do it yourself when they call your number) and splatter some oxtail gravy on my rice and peas and get the usual plantains and cabbage sides. I get the large as I am one of those obsessive compulsive eaters that don't mind eating the same meal three days straight which is what 12 bucks gets me..
NOTE: When entering just go straight to place your order by the cashier guy . This place need a better way to section of people that ordered and didn't order already. Rainy days often have larger than normal crowds here so avoid those days.

  3. I just moved into the neighborhood and have been settling in nicely.  At my gym, there's an ongoing debate as to who serves the best jerk chicken.  There's one hold out who likes a place out on Utica Ave best (haven't gotten the name out of him just yet), and then the rest like Exquisite Delight.  Given how close it is to me, and the fact that I love jerk chicken but haven't found a top tier place nearby yet–despite the fact that there are like 40 with 10 blocks of my house–I went to check it out.  Walking in, this is your prototypical jerk chicken joint.  Minimal seating.  Open kitchen.  An old ass menu.  An unclear system for ordering due to people waiting all around for their food and some just standing around.  It's also cash only so make sure you have some before ordering.

I got a small jerk chicken and small is really a relative term.  It's the small in that there's a large size option that's absolutely fucking massive.  I got it with rice and peas, veggies and plantains.  When they put it all together for you, they set it on the counter so you can add the sauces yourself.  The sauces were BBQ, jerk, hot sauce, and ketchup I believe.  I added a generous amount of jerk and a small amount of hot sauce to the rice.  After getting home, I devoured the whole fucking thing.  The chicken was great quality meat, with perfectly crisp skin on the outside.  The jerk sauce had the right amount of spice to complement the bird with overwhelming it.  The rice and peas and veggies were both good, with the fiery hot sauce not just contributing heat but all some depth of flavor.  In addition, the plantains were perfectly caramelized and well suited as a dessert.  I skipped dinner after this and was absolutely fine the next day.  This is serious chicken my friends.  If you don't love this place, you're crazy.

  4. It had been well over a decade since I was last in this area of Brooklyn near Brooklyn College.  I remembered the area mostly being smaller shops with some chain restaurants.  This still holds true for the most part (though now there's Target and Starbucks).  When time came for lunch, I knew I didn't want McDonalds or something I could get anywhere.  I wanted something local.

After using the handy dandy Yelp app, "Exquisite Delight" popped up as a choice place to eat in the area.  As soon as I saw the storefront, I knew this was going to be the culinary experience I had hoped for.  Was it fancy? Absolutely not.  The storefront has seen better days and the interior has a worn, but well kept appearance.  You see, this place doesn't focus on having a fancy interior.  Instead it focuses on having amazing food.  Here's what I tried:

    BAKED CHICKEN
A simple, seasoned, baked chicken – yet absolutely delicious.  It was seasoned very well, but not overly salty.  The meat was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy with no pink showing.

    CHICKEN STEW
I was surprised that a chicken stew had moist chicken.  That sounds contradictory, but generally when chicken sits in liquids long enough it takes on a particular texture I'm not too fond of.  No such worries here. The chicken also had a wonderful kick to it that the hot sauce lover in me really enjoyed.

    JERK CHICKEN
I had this to go and reheated it later for dinner and it was some of the best jerk chicken I've ever had.  Sometimes jerk chicken can suffer from an imbalance of seasonings or simply be overwhelming.  No such worries here, and even after a reheating the meat was still nice and tender.

    LO MEIN
The stir fry of egg noodles and vegetables was simple, yet tasty.  When you order a side like this, they offer to put a sauce on top (I just used the sauce from my chicken stew).

And can we talk about price?  Because it was insane.  Not that this is an expensive area, but for less than what a midtown Manhattan lunch costs you can stuff yourself silly and literally still be full hours later.  The portions were more than generous and I was very happy with how much food was given.

The staff was really cool and friendly.  They took their time with each customer, making sure you got what you wanted as you ordered and they didn't skimp on well, anything (meat, sauce, sides etc.).

I'd go back to Exquisite Delight any day for lunch or dinner.  Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

  5. For food this good you want to give the coveted 5 stars, but the service is crazy (because they are so busy) and the night I went they were out of plantains!!!! Seriously though, this is some incredible jerk chicken. It's so cool to also watch the guys pull it off the grill and chop it all to hell with a butcher cleaver. The sauces are given to you before they wrap up your order, I doused my rice with the habañero and put more jerk sauce on the chicken. I ordered the large, and my god I could of eaten on it for 2 days. There are some things to expect when you go, a wait but not too long of one, and chaos inside (but very friendly chaos, and friendly people too) I'll be back for sure. I'm glad there is such a great place in my hood, and it's a lot of food for very little cash. Such a good place.

  6. I'm always in search of good Caribbean food and with 4.5/5 stars on Yelp I couldn't help but to check this place out.

When I arrived it felt like a mad house!! The restaurant was crowded but it was well organized. You place your order with the cashier and wait for your number to be called. Once called the lady will let you add any sauces to your dish. Whether it be jerk seasoning, pineapple mango, bbq or hot sauce. When you're done adding, she will then pack it up and your order is good to go.

I ended up ordering their oxtail plate ($11 for small and $13 for large) that came with rice and beans and a side of cabbage. The dish was good, I hate to say that I had better before. The seasoning was good but it just didn't hit the spot for me and I also didn't know how much sodium was added to the oxtail.

I also ordered their jerk chicken and although it was good, it didn't taste like it had enough jerk flavoring. I do like the fact that the chicken was grilled and how juicy the meat was but somehow it lacked that punch that I was looking for.

If I was around this area and someone suggested to eat here, I would say, "sure why not". However if you ask me would I want to travel back here, the answer is probably not.

  7. Cash only. Just two chairs available by their windows, the place is called express for a reason. Relatively cheap for the amount you get. It gets crowded, but the line to order is organized. You place your order, you get a order #, they call it and you pretty much grab&go. This gritty hole in the wall spot is right across the street from a Golden Krust, but obviously this is the real deal jerk chicken. Me and especially my boyfriend are fans of jerk chicken. So we trooped out all the way to here just for it! I only eat dark meat chicken, and exquisite only gives you dark meat pieces… You could even see all the chicken barbecuing by the window. Juicy chicken, bomb jerk seasoning, and you must add their jerk sauce with a little BBQ sauce. Sets it off! Sometimes they have other great sauces too. Their Caribbean style oxtail are just as delicious as I've had from other Caribbean restaurants and homes.

  8. Tried this place out of the numerous places in the area because of the good reviews and it was right next to the train.  Purchased the lunch combo. The chicken was ok, although there are tastier options in the neighborhood. Also get the chicken separate and the side separate you get more for your buck.
