Just had a couple drinks at the bar, which was fine. Nice view and chill music. But how could there be so many flies? In the dead of winter?
So what is this place??
1) A coffee shop
2) A bar
3) A restaurant
4) A lounge
Came here last weekend when I was in the neighborhood with friends. Though I come to this part of Brooklyn but this was my first time at Fabricia and I am glad we stopped here.
I am in love with the decor of this place. They have used vintage furniture and accessories to decorate this whole place which is so cool.
The place is basically divided into 4 sections the coffee shop which is on the right and the bar which is on the left(extends till the dining space) as one enters here. The comfy lounge/sofa space is
shared between the bar and coffee shop at the entrance.
Since it was really cold the we went here we decided to have some coffee. I had the hot chocolate and my friend some unique coffee drink (oops i forgot the name), it was basically a cold coffee drink
with lots of dark chocolate. The guy behind the coffee shop was uber nice and explained us how the unique coffee drink was made.
Overall a really good spot in my books(a good date spot too), hope to try food here next time.
Quite honestly we stumbled in here on accident looking for bbq places that apparently don't exist, but I'm kind of happy we did. The mushroom risotto was delicious (if only my gf shared more of it)
The orange zest ravioli had an interesting flavor to it–though i wish they did something about that very noticeable bitter taste.
We ordered some appetizer think it was a crostini app, and that would be something I would probably steer clear of
Why the 3 stars? I tend to dig the decor–I could see myself having dinner with friends and that risotto was just stellar. The ravioli, though I think it was just a special for the night, if tweaked a bit I would love to have again. The staff was also pleasant and fairly quick.
I'm kind of glad that I was starving and decided to just get something to hold us over on our bbq quest because this was serendipitous.
Great bar and brunch spot. Has a great hip-theme and a beautiful interior. The service was very helpful and courteous. I highly recommend the steak and eggs (Uova e Bistecca) and Ravioli Tartufo E Funghi. As far as appetizers are concerned, the Polpette (pizza with meat balls) was simply perfect and every bite had such great flavor even the crust. Perfect for a afternoon date to dinner with a bunch of friend in their spacious dining area. Their bar is spacious and their bartenders were very knowledgable.
Grabbed a quick bite to eat before my flight out of JFK. Had the octopus appetizer which was good followed by the buffalo mozzarella pizza. Overall taste of the pizza was good but it appears that it was cooked a little to quick since one side of the crust was very black and the dough could of used at least 1-2 more minutes in the wood burning oven. Perhaps putting it further away from the fire could have prevented this.
We then had the carbonara pasta which was also good. Finished of with the panna cotta which was a bit on the hard side and would have preferred it to more creamy or smoother.
Service was good and friendly.
Admire the interior design as it matches it name. Would return if I was in the neighborhood again.
Visited Fabbrica instead of the Smorgasburg since we were traveling with children. I ordered a special that reminded me of Shashuka (eggs in tomato sauce served with a crusty bread), the dish was OK, but nothing I'd rush back for. We also had a side of broccoli for the kiddos, which was more of a broccolini and incredibly bitter. The feel of the restaurant, like most in the city, was fabulous. Open spaces, large windows, a separate bar area and not overly crowded. Although what should've been the shining glory: the food, was just okay. I won't rush back here in the future.
Solid spot in Williamsburg. Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately impressed with the set up – very trendy and unique looking bar in the center, dining area to the left and spacious couches to the right. They also have a cafe area. The decor and ambiance is very hip and current without trying too hard.
I came with a friend, we sat at the bar, and ordered strawberry "leblon caipirinhas" – they were having an event "Fresh from Brazil" and I believe they were promoting leblon, a Brazilian liquor. The bartender was friendly, quick, and good at what he was doing. After sampling the pineapple leblon caipirinhas, we ordered a round of that as well – absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
For food, we shared the margherita pizza. Brooklyn sets a high standard for pizza in general so of course this was great. The manager was very warm and welcoming. He brought out one of their pasta dishes for us to sample – carbonara with smoked pancetta, pecorino, and an egg yolk. They make their pasta in house and wow it was delicious. I wouldn't normally order a dish like this on my own so I really appreciated the opportunity to try it. He explained the history behind it and all the individual flavors that we were tasting. We cleaned the plate.
All in all, I love everything this establishment has to offer, especially their attention to detail. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They're good to their regulars and new-comers alike and I had a wonderful experience. There's really nothing I disliked about Fabbrica and wouldn't hesitate to return.
Best mistake ever! The bf and I were in the area, actually looking for BBQ. After coming up empty handed, we decided to stop by Fabbrica. It looked like a café in the front where I could quickly pick up a sandwich. When we went in, they sat us down in the restaurant. So we gave them a chance.
We started off with the three crostini appetizer. I don't think I liked any of them..the one with honey was too sweet, the salmon was really fishy and the tomato one was okay.
We were actually trying to order the risotto balls from appetizers but instead they put in the mushroom risotto. The bf ended up going with the ravioli special. I couldn't have been happier with the mushroom risotto. It was amazing. The ravioli was not quite what I expected and I wasn't a fan. But the mushroom risotto was awesome!
