Faicco's Pork store is as good as it's gets! INCREDIBLY tasty sausage—this is the ONLY place we buy it–cheese and parsley wheels, hot fennel, cocktail sausages–YUM. BEST fresh mozzarella EVER….every time I get it for parties, it gets rave reviews. We also love the rice balls, Prociutto balls (to die for) and fried ravioli's. (although I think the prociutto balls are a bit overpriced if you ask me). Great sausage breads, salami's, olives, you name it, they have it and one is more delish than the next.
Their stromboli's are also excellent.
The store is also pristine and clean….and even though most times it's packed….it moves very quickly.
Highly recommend this place…you'll never go anywhere else again!!
I love this place and the guys that work here are awesome. There always so fun and smiling. I go there for the usual few items that I can recommend and really wished I lived closer to buy products more often!
To begin they do sell imported prosciutto di parma do I recommend it? absolutely is it cheap, NO! Is it worth it ABSOLUTELY! You will want to place your mouth under the prosciutto cold cut cutter. There sliced pepperoni is amazing and fresh! They also serve fresh cooked chicken cutlets which are good, not great but really good.
There fresh mozzarella is worth it along with going for a block of there asiago cheese.
Make sure to buy a pound of there sweet dried sausage just so so good! They have such a large selection of fresh meats such as fresh sausages definitely a good place to keep in mind when searching for fresh meats or, during the afternoon a solid good sandwich.
On a side note, Parking is very difficult and is predominantly meters. SO beware.
They accept credit cards and pack everything up so nicely, sealed, and double bagged.
Definitely worth the visit and half and hour drive from my house to purchase my meats!!
They sell canned tomatoes to make fresh tomato sauce and have a refrigerated section with some sauces and other products.
Been passing by Faicco's for about half my life and never stopped in for one reason or another (my loss). Was running errands in the neighborhood and needed to pick up bacon (and I knew Faicco's bacon was top notch from their burger at Prime Meats), so it was a perfect choice.
You walk in, and you see all sorts of delicious meats in the deli cases, as well as a bunch of other Italian goods.
Wish I had time (and appetite) for their famed sandwiches, but settled for their country-smoked bacon and some rice balls (and prosciutto balls). All delicious.
Nice dudes behind the counter too.
Not much to say here, best sausage there is period. Old time atmosphere , great food, and I always walk out happy! period Wish they would ship it to my new home in texas
I am really jealous that we have NOTHING like this in Boston, there is no where to go for the freshest home made sausages and italian eats like this.
I went for my first time and am totally impressed by the selection of meats, sausages and prepared foods.
Things I bought:
Cheese Sausage Ring
Chicken Sausage Links
Rice Balls (omg yum)
Prosciutto Balls (omg yummier)
Fried Ravioli
Lard Bread (holy crap amazing)
A note about the sausage. Just looking at it you see how amazingly fresh and home made it is, and also, its not filled with fat. There is some, yes but its not like supermarket sausage. Totally worth every penny.
This is seriously HEAVEN!
So I took the train from Philly into New York to visit the bf. The bf was having dinner with his family so I decided to pick up a prosciutto and mozzarella sub from the train station. I only ate half since it was getting late and wrapped up the other half for the morning. I woke up and it was gone!?!! I was very upset. You know that Friends episode with Ross and the turkey sub.."YOU ATE MYYYY SANDWICH!?!"
I know it wasn't the bf's fault but his brother's (who threw out the sandwich thinking it went bad!!) But I could not help feeling miserable the entire morning.
You know how they say when one door closes, a window opens? Faccio's is the ultimate window. I recall seeing Faccio's on a blog somewhere and had it bookmarked to visit. I thought it was a bit like a cafe but it wasn't the place where I could go order a sandwich. But the place is very charming nonetheless. A bit of a tight squeeze from all of the customers waiting, it was overwhelming. Take a number, wait your turn. The prosciutto and fresh mozzarella was heavenly. The prosciutto balls are also worth trying as well.
The service is amazing, these guys run around making sure everyone is taking care of promptly. Such a great place, I'll be dreaming of this..
Let me preface this all by saying for my own selfish reasons, DO NOT COME HERE.
Me and the girlfriend went foraging for food; she–cranky and taking it out on me; me–hungry and tired. She woke up and couldn't find her prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich in the fridge from last night–we found out my brother took a bite and said "it tasted a bit like wine and thought it went bad so I threw it out…" *FACEPALM*…why? because that meant for me? DOGHOUSE. the wrath came down on me for her wrathful hunger rage.
Enter saving grace.
In a panic, I scrambled to Faicco's place for whatever reason thinking it was a sandwich place and was a bit let down that it seemed more like a deli….huge mistake stepping foot into this place…the smells instantly drove my mouth insane–my salivaries were orgasming with the smells of fresh sauces and just sunday dinner all over….
The line seemed to take forever–I mean honestly…what the hell people…go find things to do and get the hell out of the store we wants food!
Our order:
1lb domestic Prosciutto,
1 Mozzarella Ball (though i'm curious about the smoked moz)
12 prosciutto balls
6 rice balls
6 potato balls.
1 loaf of bread (sesame seed loaf?)
Ambitious? maybe…but we were hungry and if it was any good my family would be all over it…and I needed out of the dog house….but then I had the thought "if this place ends up sucking…then i'm never getting out…"
The prosciutto balls we picked at on the drive home–we had one and tried to put it away…but then I reasoned "if we eat one more we have an even 10 and they don't have to know" she replied "I knew there was a reason I loved you"…SCORE.
We get home with every intent on making sandwiches… while getting the balsamic out and prepping the cheese i took a bite of the prosciutto and my gf tried the cheese and took one look at each other…an intent on a civil meal turned into a primal slaughter.
forget slicing the bread–we tore chunks of bread dipped it in the balsamic, took a piece of prosciutto and cheese and just ate like starved 3rd world children… we now have half a pound left, like 1/3 of the cheese, half a loaf, and half of the balls…sucks for the rest of the family….but now i'm ready to pass out…oh man…. never again…………
….
….we'll be back soon…..
