  1. My family and I come here all the time. Sometimes the service is so-so, and that can be discouraging but when the food comes, I'm in heaven. (Most of the time service, is good/decent).

We always order the family meal, so it comes out on this huge trash-can lid, Corn bread, ribs, chicken, brisket, fries, beans, cole slaw, etc… wow, I'm getting a little hungry as I'm writing this.

The food is great, and we always leave happy.

(Their bread pudding dessert is so good too!)

**Overall, I will keep coming back, and will recommend to all friends.

  2. Don't know what happened to their service. Everything was off last night, disappointing since the last time I came was in 2009.

Server came over and couldnt even remember his name.  "Hi welcome to Famous Daves, my name is…. " . I just laughed and understood it was late and that he probably had a long day.  Our food took about 45 minutes to come out and we ordered the feast for 2 and some appetizers.  We didnt get any utensils, so we had to flag someone down.  Took another 10 minutes for that to come.  We asked for traditional wings with the bone and we got boneless instead.  But that's okay, we'll live.  Not a big deal , didn't want to bother them for more things.

When we finished and had dirty plates on the table, we sat around waiting for our server to come take them away and so that we could get dessert.  We had no idea where he went. We flagged down another server and she just answered with "what?" .  Damn, Im sorry if we are an inconvenience to you.  So I just asked her if she could find our waiter.

Our Server finally came back and he asked us what we needed.  Okay can we order dessert?  Brownies and bread pudding.  He then leaves for 25 minutes , without grabbing any dirty trays or plates away.  We sat at our table waiting for 25 minutes and playing heads up on my phone.  Only for him to return saying they dont have brownies left.  We said forget dessert , just please take away the plates and we're ready for the check and if he could provide some wet naps (which never came).   He actually starts taking the plates and as he is doing so asked us, would you guys like any dessert?.. he realizes what he just said and he says nevermind and walks away.

Another 15-20 minutes pass and we're many heads up games in.  My friend goes looking for him, and found him chatting around the bar area.  Check comes and he just places it on the table and walks away.  No "Thanks for coming to Famous Daves" or anything. We place our credit cards and he comes to take it, and returns pretty quickly.  Again , no thanks or anything.

As we are leaving the restaurant, I see a female employee flipping the bird at another server.  She held her position for quite a long time, because she was waiting for the guy to turn around and see it.  I mean that finger might as well have been for me.  It felt like they completely wasted our time during this visit.
Food was good, but the waiters were terrible.

Shoutout to the lady bartender in the front bar though before getting our table.  She was awesome.

  3. My good friend introduced me to Famous Dave's years ago and I've been a fan ever since. We were in the area and I was checking my bookmarks on Yelp on where to eat and saw Famous Dave's was close by and got super excited. I LOVE their ribs and wasn't expecting anything less from this location.

We ordered our food to go because it was getting late and we didn't want to get stuck in rush hour traffic heading back to Queens. The staff at the take out counter were really sweet and patient as we decided on what we wanted. One guy, I forgot his name was extra kind as he suggested options that would save us money. You know I loved him, LOL Unfortunately, when we arrived home we were missing one side and I should've took the cashier's advice to allow him to check our order but I refused. (check your take out orders b4 you leave)

My ribs were just as I remember them, tasty and delicious. We were pissed at ourselves that we left without getting any sauce for the ribs but we realized we really didn't need any.  We were both disappointed with the mash potatoes which I am surprised didn't taste well at all! How do you  mess up potatoes? I also had the corn on the cob and baked apples which were yummy.

The next time we eat at Famous Dave's, we will sit down and enjoy our meal. Definitely check this place out for some good ole ribs.

  4. We had the All American Feast which was (if I remember correctly 62.99) it said that it could feed around 5-6 people and we we're a group of 6, so we decided on it.
It was definitely not going to fill up a group of 5 guys trying to feast but the flavor was plentiful.
They also have numerous different types of sauces.
They also have an all-day sunday happy hour for 3$ domestics and 4$ premiums.
    Also 5$ special/mixed drinks.

Meal came with choice of brisket, pork, chicken, and ribs
It also came with options of fries, mash potatoes, coleslaw, and mac&cheese

I had the famous dave's bread pudding.
It was not even close to what they described as "crack" haha, but A+ for being a comical waitress.
It was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and bread with some sweet dip (kind of like flan) with whip cream.

You don't get the bang for your buck but it's got a decent environment and if youre out here i'd say try it once.

  5. Holy lord this place is amazing! My dad, a barbecue connoisseur if you will, unexpectedly brought some Famous Dave's over to my house last night. It was so damn good! I've eaten a fair share of barbecue in my day and can safely say this was some of the best. And on Long Island?! I don't know the specifics of what he ordered but we had chicken, brisket, ribs, beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw, corn, corn muffins, and broccoli. Everything was face-meltingly delicious. My favorites were the brisket and the beans. The corn muffins were probably the best corn muffins I've had in my life too. Damn I like corn muffins. This meal was so good we created a new family tradition of having famous dave's every Sunday for now on. Can't wait til next Sunday! Thanks Famous Daves!

  6. I ordered the country chicken with mashed potatoes and the greens for pick up. It was so tasty. The chicken was seasoned just right and the mashed potatoes were so flavorful. Would i recommend this place? Yes! A little pricy with some of the entrees but worth it!

  7. I would put Famous Dave's on par with Smokin' Al's in Massapequa. The prices are reasonable and they have all of the options you would expect from a Barbeque restaurant. None of the food stands out as spectacular. I do like that they offer feasts which includes various meats and sides so that you can try many different items from the menu for a holistic experience. The ambiance is family friendly.

  8. This was my first time at Famous Daves, and I must tell you, it was a very enjoyable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a smile and an acknowledgement that our table would be ready shortly. Famous Daves reminds me of a backyard bbq with the wooden booths and relaxed atmosphere which I love. Appetizers include wings, onions rings, chicken tenders, strips of catfish which were all delicious! The sauces were tasty and added a nice kick to the catfish. What I really like about Famous Daves is that their feasts are large enough portions to feed 2 people! We got to chow down on ribs, roasted chicken, brisket, corn, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn bread, and potatoe wedges…all under $40.00! We were definitely full after the appetizers, so you can only imagine that we had way more than enough food to take home! We finished our meals off with a HUGE banana pudding topped with whip cream….which was absolutely delicious.

Famous Daves is great for families or a night out with friends. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and are willing to go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable. I am looking forward to returning to Famous Daves next time I am craving southern bbq!
