The battle of New York vs Chicago-style pizza is over and can be settled with no contest. Well, at least the subdivision of crappy airport-purchased pizza can. The winner is New York's LaGuardia Famous Famigila, for providing an edible calzone and some garlic knots that convinced me my stomach may be part vampire as it did not want to have anything to do with it.
I think the place has gotten better since the previous reviewer was there as they were not burning the garlic… I don't know what they were doing to the garlic, but it was not burning..
If you're in LaGuardia central terminal and have a hankering for some pizza, this is hands-down the only place you can get it. And it was not inedible, in fact for a minute I almost thought "oh good, average tasting pizza" before the realization that my stomach was revolting set in.
The quality was a little better than a Sbarros 11 minutes before they close when they have not had a customer for the past half hour. I will stress this was not awful, and I went to another Famous Famiglia later as I was in a situation where I needed food fast, and it was better (closer to 3 stars)
For pizza lovers, I'd advise skip out on your base instincts and wait for a bit or go elsewhere.. I don't imagine that every place in the terminal can make you regret your love of foodstuffs
good breakfast, and the employees were very nice
