Fat Cat's is a great, inexpensive place for your all around basic pizzeria needs. Whether you want a regular slice, a margherita slice, or want to go all out and pick up one of their giant rolls, you can't really go wrong. I highly recommend the stromboli roll or the chicken roll. The last couple of times I went they took some time, but I think it was because they made the rolls fresh to order, a plus if you ask me.
So I had two slices from Fat Cat…. After I finished DROOLING!!!… The pizza was sooo good, the cheese was melted so nice. I honestly haven't seen a pie like that in years that you don't want to touch because it looks too good to be true but heck yeah you're going to have a slice. I'm a cheese fan and mozzarella is my boo so a pie oozing with cheese just takes my breath away. My review may seem a bit crazed but I appreciate the art of making a good pizza pie, that's not too doughy, has the right cheese and sauce ratio and isn't burnt on the bottom. Plus the prices were moderate – $12 for a Large pie! – Trick where?!?! Because it's definitely not by my house.
I have yet to find anything close to Fat Cat's in Manhattan so my appreciation is up there. The place isn't huge and looks like just about most regular pizza shops except this one sells the best pies!!!
Now that's what I calla pizza pie!! This pizza was incredible! I had 2 slices; one was a piping hot cheese pizza slice with all the cheese sliding right off of my pizza, love it! The crust was soft and delicious. Plus a good ratio of sauce to cheese. They were not stingy with the cheese and didn't over sauce the pie. Very good quality. I may have to order another pie to bring home, cuz this pie is all mine!! Lol I kid
A pizza place within walking distance of the lady's house. We walked in and the slices were pretty good and pretty cheap. We ordered delivery from them last week and it took a little longer than a spot close would take but it was decent.
Glad to have a neighborhood pizza joint back.
Fat Cat Pizza serves up one of most delicious slices of pizza! I was over having a pizza party at an event and the host ordered cheese pizza pies. At first glance, I thought to myself that I will have one slice. Nopes. I ended up having three slices!
It has been way too long since I like just a plain slice of cheese pizza. At Fat Cat's, the slice was packed with melted cheese and more on the salty side – this is what I was looking for! That old school fashioned slice of plain cheese pizza! It was so cheesy that I was able to have competition with my fellow friends on who can pull cheese the furthest! The crust was perfectly crisp and chewy.
Pizza holds a special place in my heart. It is my family's first food exposure outside of Chinese food. When I was a young kid, I remember nagging my grandma for pizza from that corner pizza parlor almost everyday after school. Unfortunately, that corner pizza parlor does not exist anymore and it is hard to find that old school pizza parlor taste these days but… I found it at Fat Cat's!
Solid 3-stars…which could tip to 4 if they offered a better carb-to-innards ratio on the sub and roll.
Arrived fast and hot! Some of the best frozen mozzie sticks I've had in a long time! Relaly good!
Chicken wings had plenty of meat….but were breaded…..and the sauce was a bit too salty for my liking……
Philly cheese steak was fine. Bread was SUPER toasted (like just shy of burnt)…and there was not a lot of steak…onions weren't cooked quite enough…..way more bread than Philly. But not bad!
Philly steak roll was good because their dough is AMAZING! But, again, super doughy, not a great balance of innards.
For the price, can't complain, and may order slices and DEFINITELY those mozzies again. But not bangin' enough to become my new go-to.
Recently ordered a pie to go at this place and was not that impressed. Really not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews and I seriously question the taste of these reviewers. Anyway, the pizza isn't bad, it just isn't that great either. It kind of reminded me of a frozen Digiorno pie you would buy at the store, but just freshly made to order. Being a pizza snob from Queens, I can honestly say that I've had better pizza in Astoria and in NYC generally. I'd skip this one and go elsewhere if you can.
I'm a tourist from the West Coast, so what the hell do I know about pizza, but I loved my slice. There were no tables avail (there are only like 3-4) and a guy moved over for me. I had a big white slice, YUM, and watched a Spanish telenovela. A most perfect lunch IMHO!
