Ordered from here on a whim – we live in the area and I'm always willing to try out new restaurants. This place has been here probably a few months; it's not very noticeable due to the brown signage but I found it while searching on Yelp. I'm a big fan of sliced beef cheesesteaks (a la Geno's) so I called in an order for two ribeye cheesesteaks, sidewinder fries and onion rings. Order took 15 minutes and when we got there, they packed everything to go. Which means my fries and rings are not sitting in a bag, getting soggy while I drive over. Big bonus.
We live literally a 5 minutes drive so everything was still piping hot when we got home. The cheesesteaks are filled to the brim with meat; each sandwich is literally two meals for us. I got provolone, grilled onions and lettuce while hubby got cheese whiz with grilled onion. Both tasted great, but we did add some hot sauce to give it a kick. The fries are crispy and not oily, the onion rings sweet and again, not oily. I can find no negatives to my first experience here.
Definitely want to try out their other menu items in the future. Ernie's is going on our list of restaurant rotations!
I noticed this joint when I was getting my car washed and thought to myself that I would have to try it. It blends in with the car wash so its hard to notice at first. But I'm really glad that I noticed it. I had the Philly cheesteak with the sidewinder fries, and I added onions peppers and provolone. The fries were really hot and crispy, they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheesteak was huge, I could only eat half before I got full. It was incredibly flavorful, cheesy and they put tons of meat(wasn't even a double). I'll have to come back soon to try their burgers and shakes.
Well second time is a charm.
This time we ordered the cheesesteaks.
One cheesesteak, double meat, mozzarella and lettuce
One cheesesteak, provolone, grilled onions and mushrooms.
The meat was flavorlishous, lettuce looked crisp and nicely shredded (I wish I had got the lettuce on mine), mozzarella and provolone were both good, grilled onions were finely chopped and cooked well. The mushrooms were tender, grilled and a great addition to the sandwich.
We also ordered the onion rings. Very hot, crispy and the onions actually could be bitten into and did not pull out of the ring when you bit it. Don't you hate it when all that's left is the crispy coating and no onion.
Bathroom was clean and they are constantly cleaning the restaurant. Tables are cleaned after customers with actual clean towels and cleaning liquid.
The man in my life said he would give this round of food a 5 star, he would definitely return. I said a 4 star just because I thought it was good but I probably would not come again. Any guys out in Yelpland will love this place. It's guy sandwich heaven. But since my man defers to me, the score stand at 4 star.
