Just moved from Columbia Heights, Washington DC, where there were no real Asian markets, and definitely no Filipino food. It was always an all day event when I wanted to go get Filipino food or grocery by leaving DC to go to Virginia.
I live in Queens now and I have to say this is my go to market for Filipino items and foods I cant find in Food Bazaar or other Asian supermarkets.
First time I came here on a Sunday night right before they closed, bought basics pancit canton, corned beef, patis, pandesal, etc. Loved it. Next time I visited was on a Saturday morning. Boy that was a nice surprise. It was busy, but they had freshly cooked everything… Pancit, Mongo, Rice Cake each for $3.75. I love their longanisa here. I think it is $3.99 a lbs. They have sweet and a spicy one in the back, fresh from the butcher. I usually get like 4 pieces of each kind. I noticed they have embutido too back there for about $8, but they are huge. I will definitely coming back again. Do yourself a favor and check out the goodies around lunchtime on Saturday and Sunday.
They close around 8pm, so keep that in mind. They take credit card which is nice.
