  1. This Financier location is conveniently located (for me at least) on the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets in FiDi, right outside the Fulton Street Station.

    This store doesn't have the widest selection of pastries and sandwiches, but what it does have is a small selection of good quality items.  I popped in there today and grabbed a chocolate croissant.  It was not the best ever, but it was tasty and fresh.  The service was fast and friendly and was on my way to the office in no time.

  2. The place looks nice and cute. The guy that prepared my coffee was nice and friendly, but that was about it. The lady cashier who charged us and a couple of the other ladies behind the counter were just plain rude. The coffee was not bad, nothing memorable. Right across the street was a Starbucks, truthfully in New York there are so many options I would rather try a different place next time.

  3. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Never really liked macaroons before I tried the ones here. They are sweet treat perfection. They also come in 2 sizes, the regular size I have always known and the massive. Both delicious…in..every..single..flavor! Pistachio, chocolate caramel, vanilla, hazelnut…try them all! You won't regret it! Don't think the macaroons are the only treats to rave about. I'm also really partial to the chocolate mousse cake here. My mom races about the pistachio eclair but to be honest, she has never shared it. I guess it's THAT good!

    The wait staff is phenomenal. Friendly, funny and always able to give a fair recommendation. Thumbs up to this gem of a dessert heaven!

    Price point…I don't know what people are complaining about. These are exquisitely made, delicious, designer desserts in the financial district. Pony up or get out cheapskates!!!

  4. I think I'm going to start doing a 'Macaron Monday' thing.  A little bite of happiness to start off the week?  It should totally be a thing…

    On this particular day I happened to be running some errands down on Fulton St. and remembered that Financier Patisserie does a macarons.

    ::opens door and steps inside::

    What a cute lil' bake shop!  love the color scheme!  Late in the afternoon there wasn't much left in the pasty case (I image it gets pretty crazy here in the am) but there were still several macaron flavors to choose from: raspberry, pistachio, hazelnut, vanilla, and coconut to be exact.  I selected a hazelnut, paid my $3 and made my way back to the office.

    A few things I observed:

    – The macaron is larger than most.  At least twice the size of just about every other macaron I've had in the city.  Just about the same price for 2x the macaron?  Ok.  That's kindof awesome.

    – The cookie to filling ratio is a little off… not enough ganache makes for a dry sandwich.

    – There wasn't much hazelnut flavor.  It was lacking… wasn't very hazelnutty.

    So my first visit was a-ok.  I'm not giving up though… I'd try another one of their treats… maybe next Monday!?

  5. This 1 star is for the delicious pumpkin spiced macaron, but if I'm ever craving this specific sweet, I'll visit any other financier location but this one. I was sitting down by the window, munching on my macaron, while making a call. (Given how small the place is, it was noisier than I would have liked, so I really should have chosen a different spot to make the call in the first place.) Everything was fine until one of the employees came over to me and disrupted me with some snarky and not-very-funny-at-all comments. I won't go into the details, but needless to say, I was quite turned off by the service and definitely will not be returning anytime soon.

  6. Solid desserts and coffee.  A little overpriced but overall a good go-to.

  7. Review only for the pumpkin spiced macaron. Bigger in size than most usual macarons. But tasty and had the spice that pumpkin things usually have. Not the best I ever had. But it was a good little breakfast. $3 for one. And I'd never had this seasonal macaron flavor before.

  8. Ehhh…nothing to write home about. Not bad, but not spectacular – just kind of "ehhh…alright." I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich and the Banana Caramel macaroon. The roast beef sandwich was okay; it could've used a little more flavor (perhaps a sauce to spice it up?) The onions added to the flavor profile, but not enough to make me say "yum." The Banana Caramel macaroon was very banana-y and caramel-y, but not my favorite. Perhaps it was the flavor combination…or perhaps I should've ordered a different flavor altogether. However, they were decently priced for their size – they're huge!

    The staff was nice and my food came out quickly, so that's a plus. Also, the shop is super cute.
