  1. Great experience for lunch. Very pleasant service. Started out with pasta fagioli soup and then had an arugula salad with grilled shrimp. Other people in my party had a chicken focaccia sandwich deemed excellent and pasta deemed very good! Will be back when next in area!

  2. All I can say is yum! This was my third time at Fiorinos and I keep going back to try new things, but each time I struggle because what I ate the previous time was so delish, I always crave it again! The hospitality cannot be beat! Each guest is greeted with a friendly welcome and the send off is just as sweet! The variety of wines and the beautiful ambience cannot be beat. It's always packed, but you still get that one on one treatment as if you're in your grandmother's home. I can't even go through all of the options, but from the olive oil and bread to the desserts, everything is perfection. Some of my favs are: burrata, calamari w/zucchini, grilled prawns, lasagna, spicy grilled chicken, and the pasta fagioli. Salads are great here as well, but don't come here if you're planning on eating light. Elastic waist bands or flowy dresses are highly recommended 🙂 Dress is smart, however, business casual/dark jeans with a nice top at the very least. They have options for parties as well and the place is bigger than you think. You really can't go wrong with this menu. I've never tried anything I didn't like. Everything is fresh and made to order and the staff are friendly, attentive, and professional. We have become regulars and I can't wait to go back! This is not one to miss out on!

  3. This is a review for Fiorino as a private event space.  I hosted a dinner here for about 25 customers and coworkers on a Wednesday evening.  The two owner/ brothers, Mentor and Ilir were fabulous from the get go.  Accommodating in answering my questions and describing their two private rooms.  They promptly emailed over their price fix menu options, were patient in allowing me to drop by several times to test AV hookups and were good business partners the whole way through.

I received rave reviews on the food (fall off the bone lamb chop, tender steak, and I can personally attest to the silky and huge salmon portion with fresh steamed spinach and a glorious garlic mashed potato), and the sleek venue.  Bread baskets and crostini greeted guests upon arrival.  First course was tomato and mozzarella with roasted peppers served with fried green beans and marinara sauce.  Pasta with pomodoro sauce second.  Entrees already mentioned, and a light but incredibly vibrant tiramisu to wrap it up (plus coffee, tea or cappuccino).

The "Wine Room" as opposed to the "Wine Cellar" accommodates about 40 or maybe 50 people seated, and has beautiful dark wood shelving FILLED with bottles of wine and decanters.  It's alluring and mature in feeling.  There is a large flat screen TV mounted for use in lieu of a projector adding modernism and professionalism.

Staff was attentive though slightly unfamiliar to handling a serious and professional speaker program.  One gent continuously walked and loitered in front of the speaker instead of circling behind while checking on wine glasses.  At one point, the doorknob fell off the room's sole entry point, but it was quickly and discreetly reattached.  Really though?  Guys if you notice that ish is loose, do something yourselves without leaving it to management.

Food, ambiance and service all at a reasonable price.  I'll certainly come back for  personal dinners, and would host events here anytime proudly.

  4. Fiorino's is an upscale Italian Restaurant in  downtown Summit. They serve high quality prepared Tuscan style food in a quaint relaxed setting. This restaurant gets very busy so it's a good idea to make a reservation.. Whether your on a date looking for a place to hold a business dinner, anniversary, birthday, holiday or just want to have a nice meal, Fiorino's is the perfect place……
It's near the summit train station on Maple Street, and there is a parking lot you can enter from directly across the street set back between two buildings..
The vibe is upbeat and friendly, and the main dining room has a lot of ambiance…When you walk in you are immediately greeted and either seated or you can have a drink at their beautiful long Mahogany bar strategically placed in the center of the dining room. This bar is  open until midnight…
This place gets very busy even on a Tuesday night..They have a good selection of premium liquor.
On the back wall is lovely alfresco art. White linens on the tables, and a server who comes around with fresh bread and evoo for dipping.. My water glass was continually filled..
The waiters are dressed in black and are busy taking care of each table. My waiter when asked, suggested several dishes and was very accommodating, I never felt rushed..
I have friends who have a Gluten issue and if you ask they can prepare "gluten free" pasta, and also upon request whole wheat pasta…For dessert they also offer flourless chocolate cake and an assortment of other delicious desserts…..
The menu is well thought out and beautifully prepared by Chef Carlos Espinoza.. There is something for everyone..From classic Tuscan dishes like Saffron and Bay Scallop Risotto, Sweet Breads Francese, Soft Shell Crabs with Lemon and White Wine, are just a few of the daily specials..The specials are always changing….
They have interesting salads, and appetizers along with Double Cut Pork Chops,Roasted Lamb Shanks,Steak, Chicken, Fish and an assortment of different Pasta dishes..
I started with an Arugula Salad with Goat Cheese. It was lightly dressed and had hints of a peppery taste..The Goat Cheese was fresh and creamy. Together it was the perfect start…
For my main course I chose the Roasted Lamb Shanks with Baby Roasted Potatoes in a Natural Jus.. My lamb shank was a nice size and it was so tender it fell off the bone..( I highly recommend ordering this.)
My Roasted Baby Potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the Inside.. The natural juices so delicious I had a piece of bread to mop it all up.
My friend had the Prawns Fra Diablo ( which means spicy.) It was seasoned well and had the perfect amount of heat..
If you like it really spicy they will make it for you..This dish was served over Capellini.( thin spaghetti) The Prawns surrounded the dish and it was a nice portion..
With my dinner I ordered The Al Verde 2014 Pinot Grigio light and crisp.. ( I prefer white wine.) …..They do have a nice wine list, and serve several types of champagne and after dinner drinks..
There were several desserts that caught my eye.. I decided to share The Chocolate Peanut Butter Bombe…It was dark chocolate peanut butter mousse dome with a vanilla cream center and sliced strawberries.. This dessert was outstanding and very rich It reminded me of eating a reeses pieces.. I'm glad I shared it..I ordered a cappuccino and my friend ordered an Irish Coffee.. They were warm and comforting….
Fiornio's serves lunch. The main dining room seats up to 60.. If you need more space over 100 people you can rent the entire restaurant….The wine room is in the back behind glass doors and can seat up to 60 for dinner or 80 if you want to have a cocktail style reception. There is an actual wine cellar on the lower level too.. It can serve 35 for dinner or 55 for cocktails ..
One of the owners Mentor was walking around the entire time making sure everyone was happy and got what they needed..
I really enjoyed my time here and I will definitely be returning…

  5. Every NJ town has 1 or more Italian goldmines and this is one of Summit's.

A Living Social deal brought us here and we are glad it did.

The bread, basil oil; arugula salad; and almond calamari ($13) were all excellent. Prawns fra diavolo $29) was very good, although expensive. Lamb shank ($27) was good.

Waiter forgot to put in my appetizer order and then did not come by while my wife started–and then finished–her salad, but a busboy fixed the issue, although the long delay should have resulted in it or a drink or a dessert being free. Still, mistakes happen everywhere and the place was busy. Busboys were hardworking and pleasant and the host was nice.

Good wine and beer selection, although the wine prices reminded me why I like BYO places so much–the website had a group of $23 bottles, but I did not see them on the menu–$13 8 oz. glasses and $36 bottles appeared to be the low end. Others may disagree, but when my favorite $20-$25 bottles become $50-90 after tip, either savings on food or wonderful quality is needed to lure me away from a BYO with very good food.

Did not get to try the desserts ($9) because of the delay in getting my appetizer.

The noise level was too high for this price range.

Contrary to another poster, no issue at all with using the Living Social.

Because of the noise and the final price tag, I might prefer Theresa's in Westfield or La Foccacia in Summit (although neither of those is exactly quiet), but I understand completely why Fiorino has so many devoted regulars and it is miles beyond such nearby places as Sofia's or Triestina's.

  6. Favorite local italian, consistent every time.  Happy hour at the bar was crowded, but we were able to get seats a little after 5pm on a Friday.

Excellent drinks and good pours on their wines makes it an ideal location,  as long as you can get a seat at the bar.  We had a couple of appys. Prosciutto and pear was delicious with bruschetta.  Grilled prawns were 3 very large served with a bean crostini. Also shared the parmesan cheese and olives  (which you can order, but is not on the menu).

Arrive early to get a spot at the bar. Will have to come back for dinner. It's really great here.

  7. I think Fiorinos is great and I am pleased that it is standing the test of time.  I know that the family has a long history of restauranteurs and they have figured out how to do it right.  From the bread to the deserts Fiorino is a great experience.  They bring in bread from a bakery in Bensonhurst Brooklyn daily.  Although I have been wanting to try other appetizers it is impossible to not order the calamari as a starter which is terrific.  I really enjoyed the papardelle which featured braised rabbit ragout and homemade pasta. Fiorinos has a lively atmosphere and an attentive staff.

  8. We were here for a holiday party and had a nice experience. The food is quite good and the service was quick. The manager of the place was very pleasant and made us feel very comfortable when we walked in. We ordered the veal and monk fish (both very good choices). The pasta sauce was also quite perfect – just a hint of tartness with a comforting sweetness. We'll definitely be back for a date night.
