  1. This is a no-nonsense place where sports fans can eat their hearts out. Multiple big TV screens constantly show several different sports games. They have a happy hour there, so you can actually afford to get drunk here (if you wish). Dress code is as dressed down as it gets, wear whatever the *bleep* you want and be yourself. Service is fine. The vibe is alright I guess, but definitely not worth going out of your way for. The people that hang out here are not really the kind of people I would strike up a conversation with, since they are either glued to the TV screens watching games, or hanging out with their own friends. If you're a social butterfly then go someplace else.

As for the food, I ordered spicy chicken wings here. BOY, did Firehouse live up to its name!  My lips were literally on fire, the wings were soooo freakin' hot. I basically bathed my face in ice water, which only seemed to take away the burning sensation intermittently. Unless if you are used to very spicy food, just get them medium spicy or else you'll be walking around with a red rim around the lips for at least a full day, like I did. I also liked the chicken salad they serve here, and they have cool, affordable  lunch specials during the week till I believe 4pm. Firehouse has an outdoor terrace too. Sit outside and do some Euro style people watching in the summer time.

  2. Ate lunch outside which had us miss the obviously appeal of this place, which is to be an unpretentious Upper West Side sports bar.

The menu leans  away from standard pub fare and towards TexMex. The wings looked good, but I opted for a  Bubba's Chix s'wich which was tasty but far from the spicy it was described as. The missus had the West Coast quesadilla which she like, found the mole a little salty but generally good.

I wouldnt come across town for it, but would definitely hit it up if near by.

  3. It was alright the wings were good, but the service was horrible, you would have to ask about 4 different waiters until you could get anything ordered or even a drink refill.

  4. This was a very cute bar/restaurant. However, I had to take a star away because our waitress was horrible. The place was no where near packed on a weekend afternoon.  She forgot half my order and messed up the other half. I didn't even bother to correct her. I just paid and bounced. Three stars are for the atmosphere and semi-celeb sighting.

  5. Just like another sports bar to deliver sports on HD TVs, typical bar selection, and their wings are pretty good. I prefer the mix of Buffalo and BBQ. The Jamaican jerk was a disappointment since it tasted more like a peppercorn sauce with some saltiness to it.

  6. We went in on a chill Thursday afternoon & it was a very comfortable vibe.  Happy Hour specials are the reasonable 2-for-1.  The margaritas were STRONG so it was worth the $9 most definitely.  The bartender was attentive & nice, and asked us immediately if we'd be on 3 separate tabs which I appreciated.  Normally, they dump it all on one & then give you sass when you have to pay separately.

Four stars, though, because the veggie burger wasn't that great.  The bun quality looked like we were at an outdoor picnic – flat and a bit wrinkled.  And, although veggie burgers tend to break apart easily, this one didn't even last two bites.  I did appreciate, though, that the burger toppings were off to the side – so I could have it my way.  The sexy fries were good, although I can't really identify what made them "sexy."  Seasoning doesn't seem all that original to me.  My friends ordered the nachos & the wings, and both seemed satisfied with their purchases.

    Worth dropping by again!

  7. Firehouse is a great sports bar on the UWS.  I watched the NCAA final between Louisville and Michigan there and had a great time.  My friends and I were pleasantly surprised that the bar was not packed.  That may have been because it appeared that Firehouse is a Syracuse alumni bar (the jersey hanging on the ceiling was a giveaway) and we all know that Syracuse bowed out in the Final Four.  The crowd was into the game, but it was not as crazy a scene as some other sports bars I've been to in the city, so keep that in mind when you're deciding what kind of atmosphere you want.  Our waitress was extremely attentive throughout our game, which was great.  TVs are strategically placed throughout the bar and there's a huge projection TV at the back if you really need a bigger screen.  My only quip is that the food was just ok.  I ordered a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and it was just mediocre.  Bar food is bar food, but when it's good, it makes all the difference.

  8. We walked in, waited for about 5 minutes…..no one came up to us. I turned around to see the waitress sitting down with the other table talking. We made eye contact, she gave me a look like , yeah Im not coming to help you. We waited a few more minutes, she kept sitting there. We got up and left.

Also- it smells gross in there, I watched the nasty girl bartender change her shirt behind the bar with customers at the bar. I'm good on this nasty place.
