Never coming here again. The cashier is rude. The cook is hard at work but they need faster fire pit.
If you are not hungry and have 30 minutes to kill, this is the place to get your jerk chicken. Price is reasonable but not worth the wait. There are 3 other places in the area and you have better luck there.
From the look their chicken is not that great. Probably under cook by chance since all the orders are rushed to meet the starving customer. Because I have to wait 20 minutes without a chicken for me, I took my money and ran.
Cashier even asked me to wait longer in their small restaurant.
You know it takes a lot for me to give out five stars, but yep fisherman's cove gets it. First of all their food is on point… The fish, jerk chicken, and oxtails get special mention, why cause they are all standouts! Service is on point every time I've gone, I've even noticed how compassionate the owner is with the homeless, it seriously touched my heart. He is the one who always seems to help me when I'm there so I can't really comment on any other wait staff. They have high bar seating, I've never dined in only take out, and I've ordered trays of fish and jerk chicken food is consistently on point. The little one had some of my oxtails because she's like they smell so good, she's had them from other places she's like mom have I had this before I'm like yes, she's like but why has it never tasted so good, lol so now when we come to NY she wants to stop in for some oxtails, I don't mind at all cause then I stop in for some fish. They have a few different locations, depending on where I am in Bklyn, I'll stop at any, considering Jamaican spots are a dime a dozen in NY its good to know if I see the Fishermans Cove sign I know I'm guaranteed a good meal… I'll be back… Soon!
Mediocre food and staff here. Really, the jerk is nothing to experience again. There is barely any flavor to it. When a caribbean place's best dish is its' rice and beans they've got a problem. The jerk chicken here is dry and doesn't have much meat, not mention a complete absence of heat. The lady at the front is so cold and rude. It was shocking my first few trips here seeing as how as a generalization Caribbean people are so pleasant and friendly. It wasn't just me either, she was rude to everyone who ordered. Strange. There are lots places to get better jerk, and I'm sure just about anywhere has better service. Don't dock your hungry boat at Fisherman's Cove…
For about 9 bucks – You can get 2 pieces of nicely fried escovich fish, on top of rice, with some cabbage and plaintains- enough for 2 hungry people to share. It's a lot of food, but it's good. Next time, I'll be going for the jerk chicken.
