Fae Giraldo
It was nice to find this lil spot in an area with so few dining options. It's a hole in the wall, but you'll definitely find a friendly staff and good food. Don't expect to find a place to sit, you simply pick what you want and you get it to go.
The menu varies, depending on what they have available that day. The rice and peas is quite flavorful with some of their "gravy." Their fried items are pretty good. I wasn't exactly sure what I got since L ordered…like fried pieces of chicken in a bbq-like sauce. I didn't care for the sauce, but the chicken managed to be crunchy while swimming in my sauce-drenched rice. It was quite busy that evening L decided to go. Perhaps we got the wrong order, I'm not sure. I preferred that spicy gravy over my rice. The fish comes whole, head and tail..although not very big but a good portion for one individual with sides. The Mac and cheese, while a bit overcooked, has good flavor, but it's not very cheesy.
I've only been here 2x so I haven't tried too many items yet, but I'm looking forward to their fish & chips, and oxtails next time.
They're open 6 days a week, daily specials at just $5, closed on Sunday's.
