With cabbage more juicy and flavorful than the standard, first-rate ox-tail gravy, decent plantains and rice and peas, plus very friendly service, Flava II has a lot of potential. The problem, though, was the lukewarm temperature of the jerk chicken. At the right temperature this would have been a good entree (it wasn't really spicy, but the accompanying sauce provides all the required kick.)
& people wonder why I order from Golden Krust. They don't tell me "no beef patty". This place is not authentic. Where's the pholourie?! Then the girl behind the counter was blasting music and Love & Hip Hop on the tv at the same damn time.
I was working next door for the week and got the chance to try this place. I never had jerk chicken so I wanted to check this place out.
The women working the counter helped me out because she knew I was unfamiliar with the food. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice /beans and banana. They also had this really good zeppoli kind of thing made with corn meal which I grabbed for dessert. Check this place out if you want to experience some good local cooking.
