“In another life this might be considered just "A-ok", but in the financial district it is a welcome break.”

“The salad bar is huge, and unlimited toppings (which I wasn't aware of at first, but next time I will def take advantage).”

“As I stroll down Broadway marveling at the talent of Fidi (not much compared to midtown) I think to myself…”

  1. It's a cafe. The food is fine and at least they offer fresh fast food in fidi.
The real reason I'm writing the review is because the employee cooking behind the hot breakfast station kept on licking his gloved fingers in between cooking and touching every food item. While I was waiting, he licked his finger three times.
    Why??

It's cold and flu season. Eat elsewhere

  2. This place is one of my regular go-to's for lunch.  The soup station serves up some of the best soup's that I've ever had.  The pasta station is great and you can't go wrong with the shrimp and garlic pesto.  Also, the salad station is great.  The salads are always fresh and the sesame ginger dressing is one of the best I've ever had.  My only complaints about this place that prevent it from getting 5 stars are the following:

    1. The pesto chicken sandwich used to be phenomenal about 2-3 years ago.  I used to crave this sandwich every week.  Now, I have no desire to have it and could go the rest of my life without it.  They now use kale and hummus instead of spinach and the quality of the chicken has declined to the point where it sometimes tastes artificial and like rubber
    2. The avocado in the salad is frozen and is half ice sometimes
    3. The staff are incredibly stingy with the utensils and napkins

  3. create your own lunch salad, grab a quick cup of soup, or a drink or parfait to hold you over in the Financial District – Flavors is one of my team's go-to spots for lunch. The service is fast – perfect for work lunches – and conveniently located just a few blocks from work. The only drawback is that their prices can be pretty steep ($10 for a salad and drink???) so make your salad ingredient choices wisely, otherwise you will get charged extra for additional premium ingredients. But don't take too much time thinking…i do have to get back to work, you know….

  4. Pretty standard. Shrimp quinoa bowls are worth trying, but can be oversauced (teriyaki).

They sell pretty much the same salads, sandwiches and hot food that's common for the financial district.

  5. Today was florentine egg platter day, or at least the day I discovered its amazing existence.

To anyone who noticed, I was simply eating my breakfast at my desk while surfing the net for morning news aka working. In my own head, I was enjoying my egg white veggie omelet with swiss cheese and tasty home fries on the side in a Parisian cafe, filled with light and love and great food.

Thanks Flavors for taking me away on a much needed breakfast high. You made a regular draining Wednesday morning a delicious adventure indeed. You deserve the crown for best breakfast in FiDi.

  6. Flavors definitely knows how to handle the morning rush.  Go in, choose the station you want, order, pay.  Once they get to know you, the guys will have your order ready to go seconds after you enter the place.  They're friendly and efficient.

Overall, it's a good grab and go spot.  I wouldn't recommend it as your go to lunch spot but it's good for a buttered roll and a coffee before you head to work.

  7. Not sure what's going on with this place but the last two times I got something to eat from there, I got food poisoning. Beware!

  8. Health Freak Heaven! Yass !!!

Everytime I'm by the financial district area, I always stop here. When you enter on your right, they have all the pre-made salads and wraps. Many of the salads are vegetarian. Like the Greek salad with feta cheese and veggie pasta with mozzarella cheese. For vegans, the one I prefer is the Lemon braised kale with black eye peas. Soooo Delicious! YUM!

On the other side, they have the salad bar. You can ask the staff behind the counter to make a salad with your own condiments of your choice. I personally never had the salad made for me. So I can't review on flavor and portion size. But I can tell you this…they have so many different fruits and vegetables to make your salad colorful and nutritious.

When I come here, I just like to stock on their "pure lead" organic juices. For some reason, I cant find that brand in Staten Island. The only reason why they did not get 5 stars is the check out counter. I was feel like the cashiers are in a hurry even while the place is empty. I guess that is the city life!

If you near the ferry and want a nutritious meal. The establishment is definitely the place to go!!!!
