  1. This place doesn't even look like a deli from the outside, but it's already one of my preferred places to eat between Fort Lee and Englewood Cliffs.

Humble but with extremely fresh ingredients. Yesterday I had the ABLT, as per recommended in one of the reviews: delicious. The avocado makes the sandwich so juicy that you don't even need the mayonnaise – although it's also quite good. And the crispy bacon is amazing.

Today I was going to order a paninni, by they don't have it anymore – so they suggested a wrap of roasted turkey, mushrooms, grilled veggies, arugula and sun dried tomatoes. It was also delicious, well served and with a fair price.

Next goal is to try the sushi! I work so close to the place that definitely I'll drop by sometimes in order to have something really homemade. The cost benefit is excellent, but I would like to see a more cosy place to eat in.

  2. Ordered a B/E on a Roll with a pack of Korean chewy candy, and it cost me over $5.

It was ok, but definitely not going to be the place I pick up breakfast from.  On top of that, they don't really sell any candies (ex. chewing gum, mints, etc).

One might call this place a Breakfast/Lunch Cafe.

  3. I always head here for lunch when I'm at my internship down the street and it's a good choice on my part!

Food for Life is the ultimate deli/sandwich shop in my opinion. A lot of choices, quick service, AND all of the ingredients are fresh. I always get the Light Delight which comes with Turkey, Swiss Grilled Vegetables, and Honey Mustard. I always have mine on a 7 Grain sandwich because I like feeling good about myself but they offer other choices with white or whole grain bread. The sandwich itself is warmed and it tastes perfect. Sweet, savory, crunchy and healthy.

I still need to try the sushi bar in the corner that the place because even that looks fresh (and fairly priced)! With a crew of about 10 people in the kitchen, the place gets its food out ASAP. Food for Life puts other places like Panera to shame.

  4. My go-to place in northern Bergen County for fresh and delicious sandwiches and soups. Seriously top-notch food and pretty quick service.

  5. I've been to this place just under ten times now.  The food is great everytime and the place is extremely clean.  However, the staff isn't the friendliest but at least the food makes up for that part.  Great variety so you really can't get bored of the menu

  6. My co-worker lives and dies by this place… ever since he was hooked on "Orange Roll" which is like california roll wrapped with salmon sashimi… he orders this with 2 additional salmon sashimi and a shot of wheat grass… oh wow.. talk about health nut…  It is a deli.. truly just a deli that is over-priced…  I am not sure what the big deal is with this place… the cashiers always look like they are running a 50K marathon screaming and yelling at each other as if this was some happening place in NYC…

    I don't know.. I don't know… food quality is OK.. nothing that normal sushi joint cannot handle… hm… it's just OK…

There are tables to sit and not every table has a say sauce jar so you have to get it near by garbage bin… no recycling of the bottles…

It's up to you.. i'm just OK with it.. 🙂

  7. I work just up the street from this pace, so it is a great alternative for when my co-workers and I get sick of the cafeteria!

Upon entering, I am always astounded by the number of employees working! Your are immediately greeted and asked if you are ready to order- there is an expansive menu so take your time deciding! If you want salad/sandwiches you order on the right and sushi on the left. There are lots of windows so it is bright and sunny.

I am more of a sandwich girl myself and my go-to is the A.B.L.T. For those who don't know, this is a delicious combo of avocado, bacon, lettuce and tomato! YUM! I get mine on whole wheat/grain bread with a little mayo and it is soooo good! It's a fairly large sandwich and at $4.95 it is cheaper than the sandwiches at my work cafeteria!

Some of my co-workers are into that whole juicing thing so they love going here and getting all sorts of combos of different fruits and veggies. The juices are quite expensive, but so are fruits and vegetables these days.

A friend of mine always gets a "lunch box" of sushi and she loves it! I have never tried it myself, but from what I have seen the sushi looks pretty darn good!

Overall, this is a great little lunch spot close to work with fresh ingredients. You can go all out with sushi and juices and break the bank or just get a sandwich for about $5!
