Franky’s Souvlaki
“As far as trading three dollars for a stick of delicious meat, hot off the grill – this is about as good as it gets.”
“For $2.50 you can get grilled up chicken, beef, or lamb (about 6-8 huge pieces) covered in either lemon juice, bbq sauce, hot sauce, or even all three.”
“Just add some lemon juice and hot sauce and you are set – you don't even need that barbecue sauce nonsense.”

The souvlaki here is top notch. I've been wanting to check it out every time I pass by here going to work. The lines are long but very quick.
I got the beef souvlaki plate for $6 and was happy with perfect portion and seasoning provided. The guys running the stand was really friendly as well.
Will be back to satisfy my cravings!!
Been going here since I was a kid. Always delicious. I usually get two kebabs and the bread is rather tasty. But the whole menu is pretty solid for street meat. Get for a short snack when shopping down Steinway street. Stop by and get some tasty noms
Maaaaaaaaaan, FRANKY'S!!! I've come here about 5-6 times, but just recently found out that this cart had a check-in location so I'm late to the Yelp party!
The soulvakis here are BOMB and I rarely say things like that – but given that the grilled meats here are a juicy, succulent and amazing seasoned flavor explosions in your mouth, "bomb" really is the best word to describe these suckers.
I always go for their grilled chicken soulvakis (which I also call shishkabobs because that's what I grew up calling em') lovingly sprayed generously with lemon juice which this juicy white meat then absorbs and produced glorious happy tears in my eyes. They also come served with a yummy piece of Italian bread – which has never been stale in the times I've eaten from here.
If you ever find yourself nearby, please do your tummy a favor and pick up one of these. They're not expensive and they're worth every penny!
I love this place! Easily one of my favorite spots in Queens! My family has been going there for over 20 years, since I was a little kid. The family has been running this cart at this spot since my Dad was little, almost 50 years! One of the true institutions in Queens.
They've narrowed the menu down over the years to keep the best part: their shish kebabs. Don't go to any other cart that sells shish kebabs, once you have Frank's, nothing else will compare. Always juicy, well seasoned, nice grilled flavor, and service is always fast no matter how long the line is!
Hands-down THE best kebobs in NYC and I've eaten a lot of kebobs. There are a couple of popular kebob stands near broadway and the train station but this beats them all. No wonder they have been around forever and there is always a line. Everytime I walk to Steinway I need to get one. Great flavor and also has options like pork and lamb.
Love the hotdogs Frankie's serves up. I prefer them over the souvlakis but occasionally get both. The new food truck really is awesome- they now offer rice platters with choice of shrimp or meat and Frankie's fries! Crisp freshly fried French fries topped with feta a huge portion for only $4. I haven't tried the shrimp souvlaki but people in my office have and love it. That's next on the checklist! The guys always move quickly and get right to you and your order. Can't ask for more!
Delicious and flavorful grilled meat. Sometimes it's the food truck, sometimes it's the cart. But it is always delicious. The meat is cooked just perfectly and the condiments they add afterwards just really enhances all the flavors. I love it with some lemon juice and oregano.
There is always a line, but it moves fairly quickly. Prices are great and it's always a good snack if you need a quick bite on your way to another destination.
The guys that work there are friendly and work very efficiently so you have your meat sticks in hand in just a few short minutes.
One night while my friend and I were in Astoria neighborhood we wanted something unconventional. We weren't feeing the typical sit down restaurant and wanted something different.
We found Frank's souvlaki it was completely worth it. I parked in my warm car right behind the truck and ordered two sticks of chicken which was so so tender!!!! It came with an Italian style bread right on top! I got it fully seasoned with white sauce!
My sister got the lamb/chicken gyro and it was super tender, juicy and delicious! It came inside pita bread with lettuce/tomato and white sauce!
All the meat was so packed with flavor and tender!
If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a quick bite to fill you up this is the place.
There is a line but the line moves very quickly! The staff inside the truck move fast and are very efficient!
Chicken stick will cost you 3 dollars each stick. So worth every penny! Gyro I believe is 7-8 dollars. The freshness and quality they deliver is better than many restaurants!
The truck offers sides of rice, and other options to pair with your meat! Definitely go there and try the meat!
