  1. This I imagine is one of the only places like it in this area. That NYC style store that has a make your own salad and sandwich bar while selling groceries more similar to a convenience store. I was by the area for a meeting and realized how hungry I was. I stepped into this store and realized I haven't had a make your own salad like this since my former days working in the financial district. The price was $6.95 and you get to pick 4 veggies and a meat. They had light ranch. They offer free buttered bread.

The salad itself was exactly the way it should taste. It's funny these salad bars are almost like fast food chains, they taste the same. It doesn't matter which one you go to, if you get the same add ins, dressing etc. then no matter where you are, you know what to expect. The buttered bread was completely stale and not edible. Not a bad thing since I don't really need anymore carbs in my life.

The grocery selection is limited due to space but I'd imagine if by chance you needed some hummus or last minute random item they probably will have it. Overall, this place is AOK. The salad was average and definitely fills a need in this area.

  2. The downside of the fast sandwich-making is the risk of missing ingredients. I don't want to be George Costanza's old man returning soup at a deli, but it's also frustrating to arrive home and find shortages in a $7.50 sandwich. I've gotten apples here a few times, and they're hit-or-miss.

Most things are overpriced, but the spicy pickles for $3.99 are cheaper than at Fairway.

  3. This place is a great deli! I love the breakfast, bacon egg and cheese sandwich always hits the spot. I also go there for lunch a lot. I enjoy any lunch meat sandwich as well the buffalo chicken cutlet! A great place to store when you are in the area!!

  4. I like this place. It is not something special that will make you remember; it is just convenient enough that you cannot live without it. Usually have salad/fruit for my dinner hence this place would be a go-to spot. Their salad was large in size and had mor dressing options to choose from. Sliced fruit piece was also provided here. The only drawback was their smaller options of yogurt.

Their cashier was extremely nice and helpful. There is a credit card minimum though.

  5. Half deli and half convenience store, Fresca has huge menu of fresh sandwiches and salads and wraps that they will put together to order. I chose the "California panini" and it was loaded with chicken and avocado for yumminess. I also grabbed a small pot of macaroni salad and chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Though I'm now having second thoughts because as I'm looking at the pictures I took, I see that many if not all of their meats are Boar's Head and that's some great stuff right there.

Everything looks super fresh and handmade.

Very large selection of drinks and snacks. A great stop!

  6. A little convenience store by the Pavonia PATH station. Slices of various cakes up front, a small deli, and New York City prices for the convenience of being on the way home from the PATH, I'm not sure how much business they get (they were empty when we stopped by after dinner) but they probably do a decent lunch business.

But for your basics, walk a couple blocks and go to Target, it's far more expensive here otherwise.

  7. So I figured I would try something other than starbucks today. I went here for a cofee and eggs on a roll.

The cofee is in the self serve Thermoses and the eggs were from the warming buffet that they serve you.

All seemed OK, but as he was making my sandwich I thought I saw the eggs appear a bit green, but brushed it off to shadow

Well I was starved and ate through the first half of my snadwich. When I got to the second and the sandwich opened a bit.. I saw that greenish color I saw when he was making it.

At that point I just threw it out. The cofee was OK, nothing to write about.

So the only thing I liked about this place was the service was friendly.

  8. This is a typical small deli/grocery store like you would find in Manhattan.  I have only been here for breakfast but I gotta say, they make a mean breakfast sandwich.  Everything tastes very fresh and they really pile it on.  Their egg white sandwich is light and fluffy, while still having lots of flavor.  I get it with ham, cheese, and mustard.  mmm. You really get a lot for the price.  This has become one of our go-to breakfast spots in the neighborhood for a quick bite on the go on a Saturday morning.
