**UPDATE: Try their cheesesteak sandwich. Phenomenal. The peppers are fresh and crisp, the meat is large and plentiful, and the cheese melds perfectly with the flavors in this sandwich. I was blown away. They stepped up their cheesesteak game, will definitely be getting that in the future.**
If you live in Bergen County or just driving through, this place is the number 1 spot for burgers, fried chicken, and hardshell tacos!
Their hamburgers are pretty sizeable and full of flavor. Patties are not frozen.
The fried chicken is what fried chicken is supposed to be: CRISPY and bursting with flavor on the outside, fresh and deliciously moist and juicy on the inside.
I am totally in love with their hardshell beef tacos. It's what a straight no-nonsense taco should be, simple yet fresh ingredients, coming together to form a hearty meal. You have to try it. Their menu may seem like its all over the place, but they make it work really well and the food is excellent.
This place all day, every day.
This was an interesting little spot I found taking a walk down Washington Ave. The owner of the place is young, inherited it from his dad apparently. He was quite talkative and friendly, explaining anything on the menu I asked about.
My first question? Is he Indian or a Muslim? Everything on the menu is halal, yet they have Indian food like chicken biryani and samosas. Quickly answered that his family is from Pakistan. Great explanation. And apparently, desi tacos are deep fried beef and chicken tacos. Sounded good, but i wasn't in the mood.
I love chicken biryani. I love samosas. And I love fried chicken. Ordered the chicken biryani, 2 potato samosas, and 2 pieces of fried chicken. The chicken biryani is a hefty platter of rice, vegetables, chicken, and sauces for $7.00. It didn't taste like any chicken biryani I've had at my usual Indian restaurants, but it was good. If anything, it tasted just like the chicken biryani I've gotten at some of the carts in NYC. It even has white sauce. Juicy Platters in Fair Lawn would probably lose all their Bergenfield customers if this place was open later than 10pm.
The fried chicken came from underneath a heat lamp. Looks like Popeye's, just not seasoned as well. It was okay, if i had ordered more, they would've made more fresh, like they did for the woman who came in after me.
The real winners here are the samosas. Potato samosas are 75 cents. Chicken samosas are 85 cents. I got 2 potato samosas and they were great! Stuffed with potatos and spiced very well. A little smaller than samosas I've gotten at Indian places but those cost $5 for an order of 2. Maybe these are just the way they're made in Pakistan?
I liked them so much, I ordered a few more to go, and a couple of chicken samosas. He threw in some free chicken strips for me too which I am definitely not complaining about. The chicken samosas were good, but drier than the potato samosas which i still prefer.
Definitely gonna stop by here whenever I'm in the area.
