Fresco Gelateria

“Ferrero – delicious, but really heavy, I think I'd have to pair it with something fruity.”

“you could get two scoops instead of one though, if you have a bigger appetite than me 🙂
The cones themselves were great quality.”

  1. Most celebrated ice cream and Gelato spots don't stay open till midnight, Fresco Gelateria does.

I got here a half an hour before they close, tasted a few flavors, and decided to go for the salted crumble and the lemon basil. Both were really soft and delicious. Something that I noticed, is that it didn't melt as fast as other ice cream/Gelato parlors.

I really liked that they had a seating area, I'll definitely be back for more.

  2. R. is in the building.

you gel'in? then Fresco Gelateria might be your place.
tbh, never had the Gelato and pastries here.
my skinny fat (or fat skinny) friends swear by the eats here.
me? i've only had the iced coffee. Americano with ice cubes. not a rocket science drink, but solidly good. solid brew. not super strong. not weak though. haven't had the match here. will soon.

thought the intention of FG is not to be a home-away-home office. folks do that bc of the free wifi, h20, and relatively good prices on coffee. it's definitely a place folks sponge wif during the day. nighttime is more casual catchup with friends or after-dinner-dessert dates.

the decor is bright, clean, and mod. some retro finishes here and there. not a lot of clutter. and a fair amount of seating options. space is large than it looks from the outside.

sooner or later people will start taking their posed posed baby + ice cream shots here or Pokemon Go pics…eff that fartbaggery.

til then, it's a cute spot for coffee, tea, or gelato.

drops mic bc i CONE not resist good desserts!
    i out.

  3. Fresco is a relaxed, low-key gelato shop with some hard-to-find flavors like lemon poppy, salted crumble. After trying those flavors (and their basil gelato), I got a scoop of the lemon poppy and a scoop of the ferrero flavored gelato. I got an ample portion of both, and when it started melting, it dripped onto the table so I had a napkin on hand to catch that creamy goodness!

Both flavors went well together and tasted great at the same time to my tastebuds. The Lemon Poppy gelato stood out to me, because there were chunks of lemon flavored bread / chocolate / a dense treat inside the gelato, which made its texture so interesting. Its zesty flavor went beautifully with the subtler, nuttier taste of the ferrero (rocher) gelato.

I like that a lot of natural light came into the eatery because the front window is all glass. The small details of Fresco's interior decorations– a small brown clay pot, a large glass dispenser of drinking water, and wooden paddles– help create a lighthearted, calm vibe.

  4. I tried their matcha gelato and it was to die for! Not overly sweet and it was a huge portion for the price. $4 for a scoop that turned out to be 2 regular scoops I would have done at home. Nice, but somewhat bored server. Family owned so I think her son wanted to be somewhere else. Other than that, it was a very cute shop, open and bright. Could hold about 10 ppl comfortably and more if you squeezed. Would definitely come back for more matcha!

  5. Second chance here —

    still shitty attitude

    Compared to other place,
    It's not that great.

  6. I always pass by this spot but I never made the effort to check it out…until today! It's a very cute and cozy place with cushioned seats and just the right-kind-of-quiet environment to do work while enjoying some sweet gelato. I was awed by the mountainous buckets in the display and more surprised that they had a matcha flavor–my favorite! I shared a two scoop cup with my friend, of course we got matcha, and strawberry sorbet. The scoops are huge for their price ($5.50) and the authenticity of the flavors is even more incredible. It is honestly so hard to find good ice cream and gelato spots–in this part of the village my favorites are Sundaes and Cones & Amorino, but now Fresco deserves to be on that list as well.

  7. I was contemplating what to rate this place.. and I have come to 5 stars!
Very cozy ice cream shop that friends of mine introduced me to while we were searching for 16 handles. We came in to see the place and were kindly offered a sample… 5 samples later, all three of us ended up with scoops of their magical ice cream.
Want to know whats so magical of their product? It tastes exactly like whats in it, except its in ice cream form. Meaning if you closed your eyes and were fed the flavor of choosing, you would not know the difference. It doesn't have that creamy milky flavor with pieces in it, but high quality stuff with real delicious fruit chunks. I tried the peach and chocolate, Peach was amazing. The lemon basil is smooth and silky notes of basil in a lemon sorbet.
I highly recommend trying this place out. Scoops cost as following: 1 scoop = $4, 2 Scoops = $5.50, and I believe 3 scoops were $7. 1 scoop was more than enough for me. We all shared each others flavors.

Oh and try the cookies and cream! Wow!
They also mix flavors.. highly recommend it.

  8. So after reading all the reviews, decided to give this place a try over Davey's ice cream which is my usual spot. It seemed like a lot of people liked the rose water and lemon basil so of course I asked for a sample. I didn't really like it. It's one of those acquired unusual taste that you have to let your palette get used to. It was def light which was good, but I just wasn't used to such a strange taste, but I can also understand why some people would love it. Since it was my first time, I have to admit I tried almost every flavor. I apologized to the server, but she was nice about it and still let me try everything I had asked for. It was really hot out today, so I swayed towards the fruity flavors minus the salted caramel. I ended up getting the double scoop for $5.50 with 3 flavors (strawberry, kefir, salted caramel). The strawberry tastes exactly like those healthy fruit bar popsicles. It was very fresh and refreshing for a hot day. The keifer tasted more like a yogurt and was light. It was also pretty refreshing. The salted caramel was heavier, but I liked the fact that it had crunchies in it. It was good, but didn't mix well with the fruity flavors so I had to eat that first. I should have gotten the lemon poppy or the peach yogurt with my other 2 fruity flavors. My hubs ordered strawberry, cookies and cream and peach yogurt. Cookies and cream tasted more chocolatey but it was good and the peach yogurt was light and tastes like froyo yogurt, creamier than the strawberry of course. I would come back for other flavors. It was a lot lighter than ice cream which I like esp on a hot summer day.
