I've been meaning to check this place out for a long time and finally did. I now wish that I had done it sooner! They feature, "Nightly Specials." For instance Friday is: A large house pizza, wings, and a 2-litre bottle of soda for $18.99. I tried a few things from their menu to bring home. The #1 on Chibatta bread to start. It had prosciutto, Mortadella, Genoa salami, Sopressata, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was one of the best Italian subs I've ever had! Then the: "Grandma Pizza." Thin crust square pizza with olive oil, mozzarella cheese and sauce. Again, delicious! Rounded it off with two of their soups. Pasta Fagioli and chicken soup. Both delicious! The pasta fagioli wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still damn good! (Forte's still makes the best pasta fagioli) The place was packed but the entire staff was great! In fact they forgot to fire my pizza and insisted that I take a free dessert. I tried the caramel brownie and it was fantastic! I will definitely return and look forward to trying more of their pizzas, sandwiches, and sides!
Beautfiul space, and great food. I had a vegetarian sandwich with fresh mozzarella, provolone, roasted red pepper, prosciutto,, arugula, fired eggplant, and balsamic. You can choose from 4 kind of rolls, which I thought was a nice touch. The prices seemed reasonable for the value. I had half the sandwich for lunch, and ate the rest for a midnight snack. My only complaint is that I really don't think it needed two kinds of cheese. Mozz is a very subtle flavor, and provolone is pretty sharp. The provolone was a little overpowering. But, I will def go back and get this sandwich again, hold the provolone. I think what I liked most about Fresco is that I could get a high quality sandwich without a long wait. I often feel like in the gourmet italian delis I have to wait forever just get a sandwich on good bread, with quality ingredients. Maybe I was there at an off time, but for me this place was as quick as any Subway, but with a highly superior product. And, they have all kinds of other food to take home and heat up for dinner.
