I love Fresh Fruit Bowl for many reasons: 1) they always have fresh produce 2) they always have hard to find items (tomatillo's all year round)!! 3) always have hard to find asian ingredients (this place will make you a sushi chef…very authentic selection) 4) it's 2 blocks away from where I live and has long hours 5) All herbs like thyme, oregano, chives, etc are $1/pack
So why four stars? It's super pricey. Sometimes their prices are as much as double or triple the prices at the waldbaums which is 2 blocks down and across the street. However their product does last longer in the fridge.
Definitely the spot for someone that finds odd ethnic recipes on the web and needs very specific ingredients. Staff is also very nice.
I'm on a juicing kick. I need fresh veggies and fruit
this place actually has some of the veggies I can't find at waldbaums…because their produce selection blows…as well as a lot of fresh herbs, and a great assortment of fruits. I dont think they're terribly overpriced – I paid about 50 beans for a pretty varied assortment of fruits and veggies, enough to make 3 juices a day for 5 days and I didn't run out, so thats not bad.
