This is my first time trying Filipino empanada, and I am sold! They are baked, the chicken one was subtly sweet, and was filled with shredded chicken, onions, veggies and some kind of sauce. Inexpensive and freshly made
OMG!!! This place is freakin' ridiculous! I tried their ensaymada ube here in Ashburn at a local Filipino market. I can't even imagine that it must have tasted even better fresh out of the oven. WOW!
The dough was soft, silky, and tender. The combo of the sweet dough, the texture of the ube with the creamy butter on top, the silkiness of the dough, and the savory touch of the cheese–sweet perfection! It wasn't at all overly sweet. I wish I had gotten a box rather than just one.
Surely the $2.99 price I paid for one is likely cheaper at the real deal shop, but I have zero issues with paying that price for the amazing deliciousness that I devoured! I can't believe that I finished the whole huge thing in an evening :o!
If I'm every in Jersey, I will run, not walk, to Fritzie's! Fritzie, PLEASE make a cookbook! Please! If nothing else, please bring us Virginians a location.
