Ok so I totally get that this area is very expensive. The rent and overhead must be astronomical. Pizza was OK. $4 for a plain slice with two strips of roasted red pepper which I don't even like that much. I wanted a plain slice but the guy gave me this instead and I just wanted to get out of there. He also gave me NOT the slice I asked for, which annoyed me.
I spent $4 on this slice because I used then restroom here and I wanted to stay honest. They have two single restrooms and allowed guests to use it without the third degree. Very nice. So be nice and buy something if you come in to use the restroom in this otherwise snooty area.
It's definitely not the best New York style pizza I have tried. There are better pizza places around. I got the Buffalo chicken pizza with barely any buffalo sauce flavor in it. It was tasteless.
Two star for the staff who were really friendly and even divided the pizza as per our request.
Nothing fancy but consistently solid food. Back in the olden times when I was gluten free I would order their gf pizza, which was pretty good. Now that gluten is back in my life I can say their regular pizza, also pretty damn good. I wish they were open later but am always excited when they pop up on my grub hub.
red pepper with spinach is my jam. big slices (thank goodness because the price is absurd.. $3.80), fresh ingredients, sweet guys behind the counter, and conveniently on my walk home from the F train.
Love this place, its not one of those pretentious pizza places where it takes forever to get some food. This place is actually pretty big for a pizza parlor, and has good old fashioned ny style pizza. Sometimes you just want old reliable, and this is your perfect local neighborhood pizza place. Reasonably priced as well.
If you are taking a walk in DUMBO, then a pit stop at Front Street Pizza is a must. The place has a true Newyork vibe to it with pizza slices displayed right in front. One can either go for their flavors or choose their own toppings. I tried their garlic knots which were not only utterly delicious but were dirt cheap too (6 knots in 1.5$). They also have a large seating area and have a range of pastas, soups and anti-pasti to choose from!
Lapin and I came here for a quick dinner one night. We ordered a plain pie, mozzie sticks and a couple of drinks. We had to wait for a bit but it was okay since the pizza was made fresh. There is a generous seating area but some of the tables/chairs were dirty. Also, they only had one stash of napkins and seasonings — the wait to get something was annoying. The food was tasty and on par of most pizzerias.
They have good pizza and heroes but when I called in to pick up a few slices on the 4th, the owner took my order, asked for my name and when I told him I was walking up to the restaurant in a few minutes, he told me no, wait in line and banged the phone in my ear. Mind you, he knew how long the line was in his establishment, I didn't. I was on my way. Dude didn't even explain anything. Just said "No, get in line" and hung up. I guess he thought I wouldn't get there so soon. Who cares, these dirt balls won't get any more of my local money nor will they receive business from my friends. All of these pizza shops in the area. Please! Also, #14 (grilled chicken sandwich with turkey bacon and onion), is dry. Add some spicy mayo or something to it.
