  1. My coworkers told me that the crispy chicken was really good and suggested that I give it a try. Usually they are spot on, but I must say that I was really disappointed that it did not live up to the hype. The bowl for 9 dollars was a small portion for the price and the onions and rice didn't really add to the flavor.

The staff was friendly, but given the number of food trucks in the area, I will not be making a repeat visit.

  2. From the lack of reviews this place seems like relatively new. Located right in Hanover Sq along with the half dozens or so of food trucks parked on the street. Prices are bit higher than what I expected for a meal but for the amount of food you get it is certainly on par.

I don't know if they raised the price on Bulgogi over rice since Victor's review but its now $10. However it is a generous box with plenty of meat stuffed in. I agree with Victor and thought the sauce was a little dry. The meat was really tender however on its own but over that amount of rice I think is a little bland. The rice itself I thought was bit dry too reminded me of Mexican style rice where its not as moist as how our Asian rice usually are from rice cookers.

The kimichi salad was good, definitely more of a fusion style than traditional Korean kimichi, as others have mentioned I think would be great if it was spicy to bring more taste to the bowl.

Overall I think its a good truck for Korean food but if they could improve on these few things would definitely be deserving a 5 stars in my opinion. However its still well worth a try to break away from the typical Chicken over rice trucks 🙂

  3. The Fud-Hi truck showed up in the FiDi (Hanover Sq and Water st) one day and everyday I passed by it during lunch, there seems to be an endless line.

That prompted an investigation to see why this place is so popular!
I know there's always going to be a long line on a good day so I went on the worst day possible (a super rainy Friday- cause nobody goes to work on Friday)  and got myself a Bulgogi over rice box.

NOTE: even thought the weather sucks but the cooks in the truck were still extremely pleasant and friendly- a big + in customer service!!

I got there and went straight up to the window and after a 5 min wait, I got my box, said thank you and went back to my office.

The Bulgogi over rice lunch box ($10) was huge, when I opened my box, meat was like spilling out  Aside from the meat, there was the Kimchi salad- it was tasty, not too sour nor spicy, just the perfect compliment to the Bulgogi.
The Bulgogi was super flavorful and the meat was NOT overcooked which is great!!
I didn't get a lot of the sauce on mine but that's okay, I thought the meat itself was flavorful enough.  I think the only downfall to my meal was the rice-  the rice was not the typical white rice, it is some sort of Mexican rice.  Mine was really wet and I just think it didn't balanced the texture of the Bulgogi very well.
If it was the traditional white rice, it would be perfect!

Price: reasonable- even though my box was $10 but it had enough Bulgogi in there to justify the price.

Overall I enjoy my meal very much and I even had enough for dinner that night.  The cooks were friendly and happy to serve.  I will definitely come back and try the Crispy Chicken over Rice and the Kalbi Burger!

  4. I am always down to try new food carts. I am so glad Fud-Hi is here everyday right in front of where I work.

On a cold sunny day, I decided to try their spicy chicken over rice.

The spicy chicken is really spicy. I can usually eat spicy food and enjoy it. I would say their spicy chicken is definitely not cater to American taste. If you can't really eat spicy food, I would recommend you to get other dishes.

The portion is not as big for the amount I paid. I guess I am just a big eater. However, they filled up their boxes with equal amount of chicken, kimchi, and rice. They don't use regular white rice which I like. I think they serve Mexican rice? The kimchi is a little fusion where it's not the regular "korean style". I still love it.

The chicken was really flavorful, spicy and it is just perfect for the cold weather. I am surprise it actually fills me up quite a bit and it was not as bad as I thought. I just hope they have more vegies instead of just kimchi.

They sell pumpkin soup as breakfast in the morning. That's really interesting and I might stop by one day to try it.

  5. Was looking to try something new around the office and stumbled by this cart, Korean fusion they say. I ordered the spicy chicken over rice, and took it back to the office.

One thing I particularly loved about it is that it had a perfect amount of spice! Too often places are too afraid with the spice, I'm glad Fud-Hi doesn't hold back. The chicken was of good quality and not too fatty or gristly. I'd say the portion size for lunch was perfect – not too big, not too small, but for the price they charge the amount of food doesn't really match.

I'll probably return again, but you guys gotta do something about that kimchi –  a pile of onions and a 1x1cm square of lettuce isn't really "pickled vegetables" is it, now?

  6. On my mission to try every food cart in my work neighborhood, I came upon Fud-Hi today, looked it up on Yelp and my fellow Yelpers spoke the truth! Fud-Hi is a Korean Fusion truck with a pretty limited menu, but based on what they DO have the food is awesome! (at least based on the one dish I had so far, which I plan on coming back and trying another.)

On a day on which they had a Spicy Chicken over rice ($9) special, I ended up ordering the Crispy Chicken over rice ($9) instead. DOH! As more and more customers ordered the Spicy Chicken I began to think, "What have I done?!". I mistakenly thought they were the same, but by the time I arrived back at my desk to eat my disappointment turned to pure bliss when I smelled and tasted the dish I ordered.

I would say the platter size was medium as it came in a 6 inch tupperware. The aroma from the platter was mind-numbing as I couldn't wait to dive into it. The rice was soft and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the food inside the tupperware was excellent as the scallions, onions and radish were neatly piled on the right, while the chunks of chicken were to the left with their Fud-Hi special sauce drizzled on top like a Korean Fusion Picasso. The Crispy Chicken was very crunchy, but the meat was soft, juicy and surprisingly some of the best fried chicken I've had in awhile! There were about 15 pieces of chicken so I was absolutely savoring every last bite!

Although the Crispy Chicken over rice exceeded my expectations and had me rubbing my belly wanting more, I shall be back to conquer the Spicy Chicken (as well as the delectable looking Kalbi Burger with Fries!)

  7. Crispy Chicken – The chicken was topped with some sweet brown sauce and white sauce. It was crunchy and moist. I didn't like the type of rice they used. It's not the asian type of rice that most asian food trucks have. It tasted like Carolina Rice, american rice that I am not used to eating. The sour onion and radish side was pretty good.

Kimchi was alright but hey it was free.

Will come back to try the other things on their menu.

Note: Mondays – they have FREE KIMCHI.
