This is a local hotpot spot where they have fresh vegetables, seafood and meat. On top of that, they also have a bubble tea bar with varieties tea selections.
Like many hotpot places, you get your own personal pot and your own choice of soup base. For soup base, I chose the kimchi and my partner ordered the miso. Each base is about 2-6 dollars. For our ingredients, we ordered the seafood platter, beef and lamb combo, lobster ball and my favorite fish roe fishballs and fj fishballs. Each of our combo comes with adequate veges and you'll definately be full from this. The vege platter includes napa, bok choy, taro, corn, straw mushrooms, tomato, fish tofu, soft tofu, and a crab stick. For my seafood platter it came with one crab, 3 shrimps, 3 scallops, 3 pieces of red snapper fish slices,3 clams, 2 pieces of squid, and a few pieces of octopus. One con about this platter, is the clam. The clam had some sand which was not too pleasing when chewed on.
The price is decent and not too pricey. This is truly a place for locals. I must compliment that their shrimp was huge and the crab was very fresh. Their soup bases are pretty tasty too. Also, we ordered a taro bubble tea and it was way too sweet. Overall, it's definately a place I'd go back to if I didn't feel like traveling too far for hotpot.
One of my favorite shabu shabu (hot pot) places. The lean meat is really lean, tilapia and vegetable platter are all good. The vegetable platter came with a variety of vegetables (bok choy, fish balls, taro, tomartoes, imitation crab, corn). The broth is very good and the meat is of good quality. It's not all you can eat, but it's not that pricey and definitely worth it for the quality/selection of food they give.
i personally am not a fan of hot pot at all so when i go with my friends or family, i ususally just ask for chicken udon and they let me cook it in front of myself.
they;re getting 3 stars because the prices on their appetizers have gone up to where it's a bit more than just pricey. for the soup base of the hot pot, they have the normal cabbage soup where it doesnt cost the customer extra but if you want something such as the sour vegetable soup, they charge you an extra $2.50
i love most of the appetizers they offer, it does seen fresh and it certainly is tasty. And their slushies. OMG. they are super tasty and they give u a lot
i basically just get their slush and appetizers.
Standard hotpot place. The inside is more plain but the service is fine and the food is decent.
It's individual hotpot style and you pick a broth and then basically a type of meat. You will also get a plate of veggies. You can also add things a-la-carte.
The food was pretty good, and prices range from about $10-$20. It's not all-you-can-eat style, but I feel like it was just the right amount of food to fill you up.
Self-serve sauce bar which was pretty comprehensive.
Great for a nice comforting meal as winter approaches.
P.S. I was excited that they offered blood rice cake, but it was a bit crumbly after cooking instead of the nice chewy texture I expected/prefer.
Been here many times now. Bf says it's authentic cause it reminds him of Taiwan. Their black rice cake was realllly good and is my favorite side dish 😀 sweet and the parsley just complements it so well. Service is attentive. The clams with the seafood are fresh and sweet! That was really the highlight. Fatty beef was good as well. I usually go with the olen combo with beef. Yummy yummy in my tummy HAHAHA. So glad it's close by. Perfect for rainy days. I finally made a decent combination of sauces 😀
I went with the pickled vegetable broth which is great for sour soup lovers. The herb is very good, too. The kimchi broth is my usual and I would recommend for spicy and sour soup lovers.
This place is delicious. As far as looks go, it's nothing to rave about but the seafood is always fresh and the prices are reasonable. They also have a pretty large menu so the choices are great, and the broth they use is really yummy.
Note, they have parking on the side of their building but be prepared to have to get up to move your car or get someone else to move their's if there's double parking.
I've been here so many times, I never thought to give this place a review. This is my absolute favorite spot for shabu shabu! Unlike other shabu shabu or hotpot restaurants, this place has a variety of soup bases like no other. Miso soup base??? & you actually taste it and there's seaweed in it too! Also, what other restaurant serves you o-dang skewers?! It is amazing! They also have an extensive variety of side dishes and serve extremely fresh crab… when I say extremely fresh, it is still kicking!
I love it!
Another plus is they serve apple soda as one of their many beverages -a soft spot for me~~
Fukuoka is a laid-back place to enjoy hot pot. I appreciated that it closed late enough (at 1:30am) for me to eat there after midnight.
I got the vegetarian hot pot set which cost $15, plus an order of ramen for $1.75. I wasn't able to finish much, since there was so much food and I mistakenly thought that the set was for 1 person, when it can feed 2 people. If the menu indicated how many people each hot pot ingredient set could feed, that'd be helpful. Also, there was some grainy, pseudo-sausage pieces in this hot pot set that I tasted but didn't try. That was odd.
There is a medium sized TV at this spot, which is a plus. The service could have been slightly better: I wish I hadn't had to ask for ice water (and that instead it'd be given by default to all customers), and it seemed like the server forgot about me after serving me my food, so I had to catch their attention a ton to get what I needed.
