Loved the Thai food here. I think it's a great option at the food court in Roosevelt Field Mall. The ingredients are fresh and food is not drenched with oil, as the other options at the food court. I had fried pineapple rice with chicken which was as good as it sounds. My fried rice had plenty of pineapple pieces, nuts, scallions, onions, gold raisons, and sautéed chunks of chicken. I usually go with bubble tea here but I thought I switch it up this time. I went with the Thai Tea and it had an acquired taste. It was my first time trying Thai ice tea, so I have nothing else to compare it to. I think I'll just stick to my bubble tea from now on. Still a great place to grab lunch. I'm a fan for sure.
Try the steak skewers and the dumplings. The pad Thai and the juices!
The mall is packed with food options but this has to be one of the best by far. The food is different and the prices are fair.
They're always adding new menu options that are posted up the front register.
The service is a little slow but it's worth it.
We try green papaya salad whenever it's offered. This was pre made in a see through plastic container and was pretty reasonable at 3 dollars. The papaya was crisp and the dressing was decent. We asked for some chili powder to bring up the heat, which it did. Could have had a few more peanuts. With a bit of complex heat, it would actually be memorable. Good find for sure at the mall. The many seating choices add to the experience of food court eating.
So this is a thai food spot in the roosevelt field mall. I was with my mom and we were really hungry and just wanted to grab something quickly – we saw this place first and decided we were in the mood to share some pad thai. It was SO good. I live in nyc and have had some really good thai food, yet i think this might have been the best pad thai I've ever had ever. I feel weird admitting that since this is a food court spot, but it was really good. The place is also nice and not very "fast foody" and instead looks like some good quality food. Must try if looking for some lunch!!!
I'm used to Manhattan prices so when they rang me up for a full meal for $16 bucks, I was thrilled lol. For $7.50 you get a good portion of fried rice + meat of your choice, enough to split with someone. I chose the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and requested to have it spicy. We also got the steamed chicken dumplings which were not that great at all, we've had better. I watched them make the dumplings, it's prepackaged, steamed, and dumped into a bowl for you – eh not my fav.
I have my go-to spot for taro bubble tea in the city but for some reason, this place just tastes so much better. It has a more authentic, not too sweet taste, sort of like a spice or distinct different flavor in the taro ($3). The manager/cashier was very insightful and friendly. I'm glad we chose to grab a bite here rather than the city, it was cheap, decent for the price, and I found a new favorite taro milk tea!
I wish I could give this 0 stars. Don't even waste your time glancing over this spot at RFM's food court.
The woman at the register was too busy on her phone to even notice there were customers in front of her. She was also sipping her fountain drink and eating chips. And then went back to the kitchen area to help prep the orders. Super gross and unsanitary.
Ordered the pad see ew, Singapore noodles, yum ka soup which was all terrible… ('Terrible' is me being polite.)
I also ordered a Thai iced tea, which had no ice in it because they don't make it fresh. It was sitting in the fridge for god knows how long.
If this was the last food place in the world, I still wouldn't opt in to eat here.
Don't go here! EVER.
I've been here a few times in past and always ordered the red curry and pad thai. I just stopped by today since my sister was craving red curry but we were disappointed to find out that they don't make any curries during the summer season. Not sure why!
We ended up getting the drunken noodles, scallion pancakes and a taro boba tea. Prices are great since you get a really big portion – there was enough for 3 of us (but maybe that's because we weren't that hungry).
I would not recommend the scallion pancakes here – I've had them before and even made them at home but these were saturated in oil. Not so pleasant.
The boba tea was great though! Even my sister enjoyed the taro tea. I'll definitely be getting that again!
When I go to Flushing, I like having my favorite Vietnamese coffee with evaporated milk at the bottom. It makes me all squishy inside. I'm at the Dining District for lunch on a daily basis, I never tried Galangal yet, lets take a spin shall we?
I see all the ramen and Thai choices, I'll probably come here more often now that its getting cold outside. (The Dining District so needs a coffee house. And not Starbucks..)
I walk by and start reading the menu. It looks great but what is leaping off the page is the
Vietnamese coffee with the evaporated milk that I love so so dearly.
I ordered it cold, there is no system where you let it drip and then dump it into a glass with ice cubes. its prepackaged and thats ok. When I poked my straw into in, it was pretty pretty tasty.
You could even say it was Galangal style!
I'll be back now that its getting cold outside.
