I had a lot of time to kill so I thought I would come to this diner to get some grub.  I did wait a while before I got a seat. Once I sat down someone came and got my order really quick.  The coffee here is really good!  The good is average too.  Nothing spectacular but I enjoyed my food!

It's diner-style food in the airport. While it may not have as varied a menu as the typical NY/NJ diner, it's nicer than fighting for a table in the food court. Service has always been decent and the food better than one would expect.

I especially like GSD when passing through early as a good place for breakfast.

Typical greasy spoon diner…with the caveat of being located in EWR airport. Probably one of the more reasonable options for breakfast in the United terminal. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Food was nothing special, but it filled me up for the long flight ahead. Prices were reasonable (for an airport).

My wife & I recently passed through Newark Airport on our vacation. We decided to eat at Garden State Diner because it was close to our Gate. Man – I am so glad we did! I've recently started enjoying Reuben sandwiches and have never had a real New York deli sandwich. I also have not had an open-face version, but this one was delicious – the best Reuben I've ever had! Generous amount of thick-sliced pastrami, 'kraut and melted Swiss cheese. Yes, we ate there on our way back home too. So, if you go through Newark Airport, swing by Gate 80 for the Garden State Diner. You'll be glad you did.

OK, so Your in Newark Airport and this place does not do anything to make you think you are anywhere else.  Newark Airport is an ARMPIT, this place is probably better than some of that standard airport food, but not much better.

So if you are stuck in the Airport it is OK, just don't expect anything more than Airport quality mediocre food.

Busy but quick service. Just average food. My guy had his son with us so he wanted to eat here. I would have been just as happy with one of the walk up to the counter and order places.  Nothing special about any of the food we had. Breakfast burrito lacked any flavor and so did the veggie omelet. The pancakes were sweet and maybe a little under done.

In case you need a little taste of Jersey before leaving the state, there's a classic diner right here at the airport. Don't eat here if you're in a rush, though; service can take a while. For example, when we ordered chicken and waffles, it took them about 15 minutes (of us waiting in anticipation for delicious chicken and waffles) to let us know that they were out of that dish. Although we were disappointed at the lack of chicken and waffles, the food that came out was pretty good.

We tried the Popeye's omelette with deli turkey and spinach. They don't skimp on the filling!
Most breakfast options come with a choice of sides, such as a banana, fruit cup, hash browns, or home fries.

There are also a bunch of individual breakfast sides that you can order, which we helped ourselves to. The pancakes were solid, fluffy diner goodness. The corned beef hash was really good, very beefy. Lots of onions and bell peppers, too. And yes, we couldn't leave New Jersey without having a dish of taylor ham. You can tell that most things here are probably cooked on a flat top.

The prices are a little inflated compared to your typical Jersey diner, but I'll chalk that up to airport inflation.

Garden State Diner is a notch above than your typical food kiosk choices at the diner. Worth a try, but only if you have time. Don't miss your flight!

As far as diners go, this place is actually pretty good. I'm not a diner/traditional eater, but the menu here is huge! Breakfast is served all day long and there are several vegetarian options.

I enjoyed my Mediterranean Veggie Wrap and hubby liked his fish sandwich enough. The highlight for him was his Chunky Monkey milkshake.

My only real disappointment was that they were out of their espresso drinks (I'm guessing the machine was broken) and were only serving bottomless coffee.

As one of only two restaurants in Terminal B that offers table service, I'll easily come back!
