“Or maybe I should tell you how the Buffalo Chicken Grandma's Pie is quite possibly the best pie money can buy?”

“Best pizza by the slice in Murray Hill and I'll even go so far to say that it's one of the best slice joints in the city.”

“Garlic is BYOB, so stop by the liquor store around the corner for a bottle of wine if you intend to sit and want a drink.”

  1. I ordered from here twice online and did not regret it. First one was a grandma pizza, their signature one, just found the tomato sauce too sweet but overall experience was quite yummy, second time got the buffalo chicken, it is like $25 but feeds 3-4 people. 2 of us ate the half. Kind of spicy, beware! 🙂

We also ordered a cannoli and a slice of cheesecake. Both were fresh and tasty. I also love the fact that the pizzas are rectangular shape instead of usual shape. Hope to stop by to dine in as well.

  2. Its all about that white slice!!

All the way on the far East corner of Midtown lies Garlic NY Pizza Bar. They make all of their pizzas Sicilian style here, but on that Sicilian square base they have a wide variety of different pies including the Grandma, Margherita, and 3 different types of chicken pies.

But the one I REALLY loved the most is the garlic & truffle oil ricotta. Otherwise known as the white pie. Trust me you HAVE TO try it. Unlike the tomato based pies, the white pie is soo creamy and decadent, with just a hint of minced garlic. I ordered mine with extra cheese because more cheese is always better IMHO.

  3. Garlic- you were once our fave.  What happened to your upside down slice and what happened to your friendly service?  Went in asking for 4 slices, no corners please.  No offense- I just don't like corners, they tend to be too hard and dry.  Man was very mean about it and gave us corners anyway. 🙁   And boy, these corners were inedibly hard.  Overall, crust was not as good as it used to be, lost the soft chewiness inside. Lost the flavor too. The sauce was WAY too spicy.  I'm pregnant and miserably sick and still take my pizza way too seriously.  Wasn't expecting spicy pizza.   This was upsetting, as only recently started eating pizza, moving up from 2 months of toast.  Sorry to say after this, won't be giving Garlic another try.

  4. Fast delivery, great and large pizza;) We were three and one pizza was enough=))))

  5. I'll keep this pretty short. Whenever i have my monopoly dates and I feel like pizza, I order from them.

Garlic New York Pizza Bar offers solid  NY pizza every time. I've actually never been here in person, so I can't speak to the decor or the service if you dine in.

The buffalo chicken pizza is amazing, period. The other specialty pies on the menu have never disappointed me, but I often stick to what I know and love here. Order the buffalo chicken- you will not be disappointed. Even the delivery time isn't bad- roughly 30 minutes on a weeknight.

The margherita and white slices/truffle slice are pretty tasty/worth your time. When I really reflect on the things I've had here, I can speak confidently about the pizza, but can't say anything great about the fried calamari I ordered one time, and one time only. Did I die? No, but it definitely wasn't worth the $13, being rubbery and the batter lacked anything special.

I'd recommend the pizza, but will probably stay away from other menu items at this particular restaurant.

  6. New favourite pizza spot – ever. I tried their upside down slice, SO DELICIOUS. I still can't figure out what's their secret ingredient. The eggplant slice is also very good, it's basically a slice of cheese pizza with a dollop of eggplant sauce on top. The staff were very kind and packaged my leftovers to go.

They have seating for about 20 people inside, clean and charming, with also a bar in the back that seems to open up later in the evening. There's an outdoor patio also so I can imagine this pizza spot is a hit during the summertime. Definitely recommend it !

  7. I ordered online for two slices of BBQ chicken and grandma pizza. The pieces were kept in the oven. I stood there for five minute and they finally took my food out. The pizza taste great but too small. They are the smallest slice I have never seen. If I put my hand on one slice, you can not see the food. You can see the crust if you put two slices under my hand. I guess my hand is huge.

  8. Best pizza slice in New York!! Well at least around my apartment. I haven't eaten at many New York pizza by the slice places ( please don't judge.. I am new here!) but that s usually cause they don't look too appealing. I was craving pizza and we usually go to Patsy's which is right opposite our apartment but we wanted to try some place different. Yelp ratings guided us to this pizza bar and I must say the ratings don't lie. The granny slice looks small but it's packed with toppings so don't be fooled- order a slice or two if you re really hungry and that might fill you up quite well! I got the original margherita and bbq chicken while my husband got the original and buffalo chicken- we split the bbq and buffalo and both were amazing!! Big chunks of chicken dug deep into the cheesy base. I usually am left wishing that there should be more toppings on my pizza but not here. Will definitely be back!
