atmosphere: The bar is located in a small strip of other shops/restaurants. It has that pub feel while being enough of a restaurant that you can bring the kids. I waited a while to be seated, even though the hostess was right there. She seemed to not realized that I was waiting to be seated.
Food: I was surprised at the cost for a burger dinner for 2 ($70). We eat had a drink, and there is an extensive list of cocktails, beers, and wines. We shared the charred brussel sprouts, which were good but very oily and a little too charred and citrusy for my taste. I loved my burger choice- the Thanksgiving-inspired turkey burger, which was filling enough to save half for lunch.
Pros: Gluten-free buns are available and there are plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options.
Cons: a little pricy
Second experience parallel to the first…Meh.
Not a big fan of their buns. Too much height, difficult to eat. Too much bread, takes away from the good stuff.
I had the Moody Bleu and I found it surprisingly flavorless. The bleu cheese lacked funk, the onion rings lacked sweet, the beef itself was even a little bland. Kinda disappointed, on paper it sounded like a home run.
The french fry wafers(?) were whatever…they look like the fries you get at Roll N Roster in Brooklyn, but without the cheez. And who wants to eat Roll N Roaster fries without cheez? Ninja please.
Service was great.
Beer selection was above average.
Personally, for burgers I prefer E.A.T Gastropub right down the road in Oceanside. Better flavors.
We stumbled into George Martin's burger restaurant, having found the coffee shop nearby closed on a Sunday. This turned out to be a fortuitous event.
Though GM has an excellent brunch, which is an excellent deal too, my companion and I opted for the burgers, which are of course this restaurant's signature.
Turkey burger made with fresh turkey, yummy cheese and apricot jelly, a little too messy for my taste… Though there's nothing wrong with the taste.
The potato disks are a nice change of pace from traditional french fries, and pickles served a plenty, just like the hot buttered popcorn, Delivered upon arrival.
Most impressive, GM burger has an overwhelming amount of great choices on their menu; making me want to return again and again until I've tried all those that made my mouth water today.
Service is prompt and pleasant and, though I wasn't watching them today, all the football games were on the wall in case your team is playing.
Gourmet burgers for sure, and worth every cent. Got the quinoa burger and it's handmade. Not some smashed frozen reheated patty. You can see they freshly made and shaped this. Flavor is good and comes with what tastes like a greek yogurt spread. Overall, delicious.
Came here for the first time this weekend with a group of five, we were placed in the back of the room by the bathrooms and kitchen so there was a slight draft. Overall the experience was pleasant, the food was tasty and original. The service was great. Here are my pros and cons.
Cons: Small space, gets crowded, table was small for 5 so we were slightly smushed. We also all felt a draft. I ordered a chicken sandwich which was tasty but slightly soggy and I was left hungry even after the french fries. People in my group ordered salads first ( which I should've done) and cheese on their burgers and commented that there was definitely less cheese then they would've wanted. For what we ordered, I definitely find items were slightly overpriced. I overall found it somewhat difficult to decide on what to get, there were a lot of different toppings on each burger/sandwich and it was hard to imagine what they might taste like.
Pros: Fast-paced and friendly service. Stays true the George Martin chain. When you are waiting, you are served with Popcorn which is cute but not that tasty. Overall creative twists on ordinary food and don't get me wrong, it works! The food is delicious especially their chipotle ranch salad dressing, burgers with fun toppings and chicken avocado sandwiches with their interesting dips such as cranberry honey mustard.
I'd recommend this place for something new but I would like to see more specials ie Burger and Side Salad or maybe something like " create your own sandwich" with one charge rather then additonal charges for each topping.
Spike'd milkshake was great – burger was good, I've definitely had better (looking for a good burger, go to New York Burger Bar in Massapequa). Service was not the best. Waiter had no personality whatsoever. Didn't ask how our food was during our meal.
we were in the area to eat somewhere else but it was closed, I had this bookmarked on yelp since we're on a try every burger on long island adventure lol…. anyway the burger was very delicious. the fries which I thought I wouldn't like I ended up loving along with the dipping sauce. every place should give a dipping sauce with fries! my hubs also loved his burger. I also loved the look of the inside of this place. reminded me of west elm. anyway I'd love to come back and try a shake one day here…… saw a pic on yelp that looked great.
This restaurant is competative with the boutique burger joints. My burger was great. I loved the french fries. They have a great selection of beer. it is a little dark in the restaurant but had a nice ambience.
