To keep this short and sweet it's just an overpriced bodega.
I got a egg, cheese, and turkey bacon on a roll and paid nearly $7 when the same thing at Deb's across the street is $3.50
This place is akin to Whole Foods…completely overpriced "healthy" food
Kind of expensive but fresh salads and made-to-order sandwiches. A really popular spot around Tribeca/Soho for work lunch. It just feels healthier.
It's my fault I add the expensive add-ins (bacon, avocado). But I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm still getting used to NY bagels being extra delicious and fluffy than what I'm used to in Cali. This isn't my favorite place in NYC but it's super convenient and quick. Had the Everything bagel yesterday morning for $1.60 (a little pricier than I expected for a plain bagel). Yes, I devoured that real quick but no it doesn't beat Brooklyn bagels. Will probably be back since it's close to me and is better than a Cali bagel hands down.
I like it toasted
Stopped in for a quick coffee before a client meeting, they were already getting ready to close up shop at 4pm.
Coffee was fairly priced, strong and hot. Couldn't ask for more.
Very cool lion statue!
I go here primarily because of its proximity to my office. I have only eaten lunch here, but have always been satisfied food wise. Price wise, I think they are a bit expensive, but probably no more than any other establishment in the neighboring area.
Their salads are delicious and huge! I almost feel bad getting them because I'm usually out at least $10 (it's $7 for 5 toppings, plus $2 for meat) and can only eat half of it.
The soups are delicious. Fresh (I feel like they just picked the dill from a garden and dropped it in my chicken noodle soup) and served hot, they're some of the tastier soups in the area and have one of the cheaper price tags attached to them.
I've also enjoyed their sandwiches – they have a variety of selections or make your own, as well as different condiments like yogurt sauce or hummus. And again, the portions are hearty.
Food for thought: they take credit cards for almost any purchase. I bought a fresh brewed iced tea here for like $2 and was able to charge it with no question. Gotta love those places! At lunch time, the lines get long, but don't be discouraged, they move pretty quickly.
Consistent lunch place. Three stars is accurate. If you don't work down here this isn't a place to seek out for lunch.
However, they did introduce me to my new favorite addiction: kale, spinach, mango fruit juice. Delicious and well worth it.
When my office moved from Midtown to the West Village, I knew my tastebuds would benefis more than any other part of my body due to all the fabulous restaurants around. Still, there were days when all I really wanted was a simple deli sandwich or a tossed salad, like the kinds I could get at any of the standard sandwich-salad-pasta places that cover Times Square (think metro cafe, europa, etc). Getting Hungry was the answer to my prayers. I've never ordered for delivery, only as a walk-in, but they've been incredibly fast and reliable every time. Even during the lunch rush, I never spend more than 5 minutes waiting in line to place my salad order. The sandwich line is a bit longer, but still fast. The quality is nothing more or less than what I would expect, just basic, fresh ingredients. If you need something quick and simple to go, give them a shot!
Since this place is near my office, I come here often for lunch because of the great selection of items, from pasta to soup to sandwiches to salads to smoothies.
But there are about 10 places within a 5 block radius that serves similar food in the area. I would write such a bad review if it weren't for the fact that I felt cheated buying breakfast the other morning.
First of all, I didn't see a menu with prices. I ordered a simple sausage, eggs, and cheese sandwich with no other embellishments, thinking they can't possibly charge me much more than the next place. But they did… 4 BUCKS for a stupid breakfast sandwich? Give me a break! This is New York, but $4 is like highway robbery. What kind of premium sausage, free range chicken eggs, or imported Italian cheese did they put in my sandwich to warrant that kind of price?
Absolutely outrageous.
