  1. I wondered in here trying to find a place to have a drink. I had actually gone into a different bar nearby but it was way too crowded.
We walked into GG's for a drink. They sat us down at a table. Even though we had just eaten dinner, the smell of the pizza at GG's was simply irresistable.
So we had our second dinner- grandma pizza. I was so stuffed but I managed to stuff down a delicious slice of pizza, and it was totally worth it.
Cocktails are good too, they were about $12.
Next time I come back here, I will not eat dinner beforehand, I will actually come here for dinner.

  2. I just came here with 4 friends and ordered a pizza feast. The place is well managed, and the service welcoming, attentive and professional. We had a great time.

Their happy hour from 4-7 on weekends is unbeatable: $5 beers, $7 wines, $8 cocktails, $12 for a round pizza (3 choices) and $3 for a slice of grandma's thick pizza. Truly a great deal.

12" round pizzas are big, and very filling. You need to be really hungry to eat one all by yourself.

We ordered the margarita, the ebony & ivory and the 1986, and they were all cooked to perfection. They even brought us some ricotta, olive oil and pepper to dip the left over crust (wow).

Although they have desserts starring Morgenstern's ice cream, they are rather forgettable (and expensive): the icecream was little ad half melted… not worth the $8 price tag.

They take reservations, so take advantage of it (it's often packed)… as very few pizzerias allow it.

  3. The pizza is good… But nothing to write home about. The crust is way too hard and it's impossible to bite into it!

  4. Had a low-key birthday dinner with a group of 7 at GG's on a Saturday night. The menu has a ton of things, including great cocktails, coffee (!!!) and ice cream sundaes. We got a zucchini pesto pizza, grandma pizza and an Italian wedding pizza, which was the perfect amount.

Restaurant is a bit tight, but they were really accommodating for this bday dinner. I'm really excited to come back!!!

  5. Pizza that is beautifully delicious!

This upscale pizza shop has everything you can ever want. It has delicious pizza combinations with high end ingredients that just make your mouth water. For the interior it is very trendy with intimate lighting that is perfect for a date and a bar if you just wanna grab a pizza and hang out.

When I got here it was packed every table was taken except 1 which just big enough for my group of three. We were greeted by a very friendly wait staff and ordered margaritas along with some appetizers and a pizza.

To start we got the Fried Lamb Meatballs, french fries, and Brussels sprouts. All of them were really good but the brussels sprouts were my favorite they were cooked to perfection and with the bacon mixed in made it so tasty.

The Pizza we got was the 1986 which had on it spicy sopressata, fennel agrodolce, pickled peppers, arugula. I would never think of this type of combination on a pizza but I am happy I got it. When the pizza came to the table it looked beautifully delicious. I of course took the first slice and start eating it and with every bite it was a flavor explosion which was amazing. The mixture of the pickled peppers which were spicy with the sopressata was perfect.

    In short:
    – My favorite pizza place for dinner in the east village
    – Amazing Food and Drinks
    – Friendly Staff
    – Great for a date

  6. East village pizza joint that slings out grandma pies & brunch on the weekends! Its probably my favorite place for grandma pie

–grandma pie: SO GOOD, its like a cross between a personal pan pizza and grandma slices, def a must try here
–garganelli: pork ragu was good, not bad but kinda overpriced. the "large" was still pretty small
–whole wheat lasagna w/ mushrooms: not bad but not really a lasagna because the layers weren't really intact

At Brunch they offer a diff menu but you can still get pizza! (Grandma pie & breakfast slices)
–Spoonbread: supposed to be like cornbread and a frittata, BLAND
    –latte: nice foam

NOTE: cute atmosphere but REALLY CRAMPED TABLES

  7. Stopped by here on a Saturday night from a friends recommendation. We didn't have to wait long which is always a good thing. The tables are very tight together, which isn't my favorite, but I was hoping that the food would make up for it.

We ordered the infamous grandma square pie and also made our own pizza. Our pizza was topped with spicy sopressata and mozzarella cheese. The grandma pie was awesome. The pepperonis were crispy which is my preference and the dough holds up perfectly. Our built pizza was a flat style so we could try both. It's really hard to pick which one was better because I thought both pizzas were delicious.

This is a place where if any of my friends are in the mood for pizza, I will definitely recommend them to GG's.

  8. The BF & I split the brussel sprouts (with bacon + black vinegar) and the O.G. Grandma Pie.  The pizza was good, but the dough tasted fried which I didn't love.  If I ever come back, I'd opt for a round pie even though their heart-shaped pizza is such an adorable idea!
