“Sometimes the broth is a hit or miss being that it might lack flavor but their pork chop and spring rolls are always spot on.”

“- grilled chicken – was great, and the cha gio use the correct rice paper instead of the version that makes it more like a Chinese egg roll.”

“The beef summer roll and shred pork summer roll is very good, this Viet restaurant has the best taste in 8th Ave!”

  1. I had been here 2 days in a row for lunch and each of the experience was great. Mostly great. Food was excellent.
Day 1. I got a pho number 12 on menu. The soup base tasted a bit light but it doesn't reek of that msg taste that other Viet places have. A lot of rice noodles but very little of meat. I literally had 2 slices of beef. Big bowl though so no complaint. The waiter got on my nerves a bit. As a previous yelper mentioned the spiked hair dude took our order and ask rudely what do you want in Chinese. Now my bf is not a fluent Chinese speaker so he had an accent as almost all abcs Do but the guy just gave him a look. The girl at the front had a better and friendlier attitude.
Day 2. I went to get take out and had ordered by phone first. The guy picked up the phone and took my order. No problem. When I got there I was greeted by the girl at the front who frantically looked for My bill that the spiked hair guy misplaced. While waiting for my order the spiked hair dude picked up cash from one table. The lady asked him to ask if they want change. From what I saw change was 9 something. Now the guy didn't even bother to ask them since it was a group of 4 non Asians. He just screamed across the restaurant saying "no need " in a don't care tone. even though I wasn't that tables customers I still felt that was unethical. Tips are considered a  privilege  and not for you to decide except the customers.
Back to my order. I got a pork chop over rice. Meat portion is crazy. Good crazy. It was 2 large pieces of meat that filled up the box. Most Viet places give you less that that and still charge you more. It was 6.25 total btw.

Would I come back? Sure why not. But take out because I don't want the guy to ruin my good perception of her

  2. My family and I have been coming here for years. The quality of the food has declined somewhat, but their spring rolls are always amazingly savory and on point.

Pho is usually a miss but pork chops and rice is a solidly delicious dish. Chicken chops have been fantastic in the past too!

  3. My family's go to place for Vietnamese food ever since we were children. Great prices for the portions. Definitely go with the classic pho bowl, but also the spring rolls! They are to die for!

Additionally, their beef stew noodle {beef brisket} is amazing – be sure to get egg noodle though, they're my favorite!

  4. Not particularly the best Viet food I've had, but definitely not the worst.  The place doesn't feel the cleanest, but the service is pretty good.  They're really quick and attentive!

The summer rolls are like any, super crunchy and really good.  They included cilantro, which I don't typically see, but thought it was great since I love cilantro.  For some reason, I didn't really like the pho all too much, maybe because I came kind of later, when it wasn't dinnertime anymore.  I would definitely give it a second try though.

  5. A decently good viet restaurant around 8th Ave. The broth for the pho is beefy. The pork chop is grilled nicely.

What's unusual is that they serve fries and onion rings but I'm getting it's there for the kids to order. Their fries are pretty delicious tho.

  6. Pretty solid Vietnamese restaurant in Brooklyn Chinatown.

The main room is pretty spacious, with a TV way at the back by the kitchen, and wooden panels that give it a cabin-like appearance. Not amazing by any means, but certainly above average for this part of town.

The spring rolls are really delicious; nice and crispy, they pack a lot of flavor. Not sure what the filling is, but these babies are really tasty.

We tried two different pho. My seafood pho (#19 on the menu) was actually disappointing. The broth was tasty, and the noodles nicely chewy, but most of the seafood ingredients were of the pre-made variety: fish balls and crab meat sticks, plus two pieces of cuttlefish, and two shrimp. What I like better of this pho, in the end, were the vegetable bits (bamboo and mushrooms in particular). The classic Pho Dac Biet (#9 on the menu) was a lot better.

Stick with the classics and you won't be disappointed.

  7. Situated in Brooklyn's chinatown you'll find this 10 table vietnamese restaurant. The smells coming out of the place just tells you its authentic and a Lil family mom is making the dishes in the back.

Great service and super attentive. They even brought hot boiled water over without us suggesting and were a step ahead. The fried spring rolls were super crispy on the outside and tender flavorful pork and herbs inside. Usually places over fry them and they dry out but here it is the exception. It's accompanied with fresh thai basil sprouts and lettuce to wrap them up and dip them in a nice vinegar sugary sauce. The pho I ordered was also great. Beefy brothy goodness with hints of lemongrass. The bowl was filled with wonderful vermicelli beef round tripe that worked well with the broth. A empty bowl at the end for sure. Their grilled pork with rice was also delish. Nice charring, a good sauce and tender. Their vietnamese coffee though I found was a bit heavy on the condensed milk which skewed it super sweet. Other than that I will definitely be back.

  8. *This review is based on a Take-Out experience*

I placed an order for dinner for me and the boyfriend and the woman I spoke with wasn't very friendly. When we arrived we waited 5-10 minutes for our food to be ready.

The boyfriend had the grilled pork chop over rice. I ordered the Bun Thit Nuong-Cha-Gio (grilled sliced pork with spring roll on rice stick) and it was possibly one of the best Vietnamese rice stick dishes I've had! It was packed with lots and lots of food. I like that their lettuce is shredded and cucumber too. The spring rolls were fried perfectly and full of flavor. I was super full afterwards.

We've never eaten at this location, but have been to the 54th street one and quite frankly that one – the people there aren't the friendliest either.
