Ok, so let's talk about this new place. It's In the town of Tappan so naturally there isn't great parking. This plaza does have a grass and gravel lot across from it but it is not an official parking lot. The space in general is a decent size and had a nice look from outside.
Seems like there should have been a host readily available to seat us but the host was busy and away from the door when we walked in. We did get seated fairly quickly but they seemed confused and had to ask each other where to seat us. For a place with about 15 tables total that seems uncoordinated.
An Owner or Manager came over and took our drink orders, he was very polite and well dressed. The waiter came over after a wait that felt longer than necessary for a Sunday night. He asked if we wanted to order or if we would like to try the specials. Hold on, what specials?, no one mentioned those. Well the waiter went through them and we ordered.
The food came timely. We had the mixed green salad with artichokes which was good. We also had the little neck clams with chunks of lobster in a tomato broth(special) which was really great! Then our entrees came out. We had a filleted white fish(special)that we can't name but very similar to a branzino. It was bland and could have been better. We also had the braised short ribs which were average. I can't really write much more about them. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Homemade Nutella creme brûlée and flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. We have to say that the desserts were on the amazing side of the rating scale!!
Well when it came time to get our check the waiter went MIA. The same gentleman from the beginning of our meal was looking over at us and eventually came over and picked up our check. Honestly we have no idea what happened to the waiter but we never saw him again. Lastly the drinks were really made well. The Martinis were just right and they did buy us a round. We will try it again soon.
