  1. In search of deliciousness near my job, I yelped upon this place and decided to give it a try. It's a pretty small restaurant, mostly for takeout. There are some seats though, I came around 12:30. Line was decently short. I got the teriyaki steak plate.

Overall it was pretty tasty, the steak wasn't chewy but it could have used a tad less sauce. It was a little overpowering. The rice and salad were nothing special. Nothing that Siracha can't fix.

  2. Not sure why this place has 3.5 stars, I love it!!

There's very limited seating. Parties of 2 work out best. It's a very common weekday lunch grab spot so try to avoid the high peak times around 12 or 12:30pm if you're trying to take it slow and enjoy your day.

    Combo deal:
2 proteins of your choice  + grain + side salad = $11. I love their salmon and steak!!

  3. Once upon a time I use to work a few blocks away from Glaze.

Some dickbag former manager recommended this spot to me and it's probably the only solid advice he ever gave me.

Quick in, quick out. I always opted for the salmon or pork loin and was never disappointed. Some solid protein, some leafy greens and a nice helping of brown rice and I was re-energized to power through another day of cubicle hell.

Nothing mind blowing here, just a solid lunch spot in Midtown East.

  4. Glaze offers teriyaki on the go.  Think the customization of chipotle with Japanese ingredients.  You pick a protein, a sauce, a dressing and serve over white rice, brown rice, or salad.  I had chicken breast over brown rice with spices sauce.   The food here is very good and the quality is apparent.  The meat was well prepared, seasoned and the sauce packs big flavor.  The rice wasn't bad, but I regretted not getting the salad.  The small side salad and carrot ginger dressing that came with the rice option was very good, and I would come back to get one of their unique glazed proteins over a cool crisp salad.  I figure you can get rice and meat just about anywhere, so I'd say shift you're thinking on this place to a "salad spot" and you won't be disappointed.  Great for a quick lunch, but is pricey— will run you upwards of 14 bucks…  Bummer.

  5. I ordered from Glaze many times when I worked from midtown, but this was actually my first time there. Glaze is gluten free, not that I am gluten free, but makes me feel healthier. Lunch time here is very crowded so I recommend going in the evening when midtown empties out. The order came super fast and the glaze they use is perfect, not too sweet and not overpowering.

  6. It was alright. Had he thigh. Nothing to write home about. The staff was sitting and just goofing off which I found annoying. I love teriyaki but this wasn't as good as the teriyaki chicken bowls that I grew up with.

  7. I loved this place! I tried it for the first time today with one of my coworkers and I can't believe I haven't had it before. It is great for lunch because it was super quick turn around time. The price is affordable too.

I ordered the hanger teriyaki steak with brown rice and the sesame dressing and it came to $12.25. Not too bad for steak and the portion size. The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back again!

My coworker had the teriyaki salmon and he said it was delicious as well.

Fast service, not expensive, and tasty food. What more can you ask for?

  8. Finally tried this chain.  Their regular teriyaki is horrible…but the spicy quite tasty!  The quality of beef and salmon – as well as the cook – is really good.  Chicken was a bit dry.  Really liked the sauteed veg, and the mixture of greens used in the salad with which they line the container.

Solid option if you're not in the mood to deal with the Digg Inn line, but still want healthy lunch fare!
